We booked the 3 bedroom fully self-contained apartment (101) for a family wedding. Comfortablly sleeps 6 people. This room gets some morning sun on the balcony and then it's nice and shady in the afternoon and evening. Heaps of room to watch TV and to cook and eat-in when we wanted to. We really liked the position of the hotel, a street or so back from the beach away from the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay on a long weekend during School Holidays, but close to everything, which was easily walkable. Really handy that Aldi is virtually next door via the shared carpark. We didn't have a problem getting a car space, even over this busy period and we had two vehicles between us all. Thanks to Leigh/Lee for his welcoming manner upon arrival and for the multiple access cards the adults needed to be able to come and go. Thanks also to Flynn for fixing the internet for us, when we had a temporary connectivity issue. All the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Byron Bay.

The room we were given was #1 on the first floor. The room was in need of an over all cleaning. The furniture was mismatched and worn and appeared as if scavenged from other places. The noise in the hallway all night as people came into the building after hours was a constant source of annoyance every time someone let it slam and woke us up. The small patio area was filthy and unusable. Not what we had expected in Byron Bay and certainly not worth the price paid. The only positive was the location and the friendly desk staff.

Our stay at Byron Bay Hotel was okay overall. Parking was a bit tricky to find at first, but when we called, reception were very kind and clearly explained where to go. Check-in was smooth and the location is excellent — right in town and just steps from the beach. The room itself felt more like a motel than a hotel, and we would have appreciated brighter rooms and cleaner bathrooms. It was also a bit noisy at times, as sound easily travelled from neighbouring rooms. That said, for the location, it’s still a convenient place to stay for a short visit.

Very poor stay, room dark, dingy and depressing. My room lost all power (for over an hour) and no one on premises to assist. In the end I received an external call and was told I had to reset the fuse box in the hotel corridor. Brought up my “experience” to the reception staff at check out the following morning and it was ignored. Would never recommend this hotel.
