Wonderful accomodation, very spacious, homely and comfortable. Room was spotless, I felt like it had never been used before. Great heater and electric blanket, with plenty of tea and coffee.

Loved the location to the CBD area. Onsite parking was a bonus.

Waratah is a beautifully renovated historic building located on one the hills in Launceston. The room was large and well apponted. The bathroom is new and spotless. The bed is very comfortable. They do not serve any food so come prepared. There are a number of good cafes and restaurants, however, you need to drive or get an Uber/taxl. Yhe hill is too steep for a comfortable walk. There are numerous steps between the car pak and the front door.

Waratah on York is the perfect place to stay if you like old world charm with the convenience of a contemporary bathroom. The staff were supper helpful with suggestions on where to find a delicious meal or tourist attractions. As mentioned in previous reviews, the outside and inside steps may be a challenge for elderly or disabled guests but there are rooms downstairs so be sure to mention any medical conditions on booking and I am sure Pia will be happy to assist you. Nice accommodation, very clean and comfortable. You do need to be fit to conquer the steps from car park to room.

A great location, a gorgeous old building, close to the heart of Launceston. Great restaurants and parks close by, with on site parking, it all made for a lovely stay. A warm welcome from the staff and a lovely big room overlooking the park and river in the distance made for a most enjoyable stay.

Staff was very helpful in recommending a good winery to visit plus enjoyable dinner and breakfast venues.
