Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place

For a Marriot the location is excellent and the staff amazing but there are some improvements to be made.The hotel is in an excellent location, everything is walking distance within central Brussels! Our view especially overlooking the Bourse was wonderful. The room is nice but quite cosy when a rollaway bed is added for our child. Shower strength is very good although the plugs are slow draining in the shower and wash basin. Breakfast buffet is fine - I would say being lactose intolerant that it could be improved with full allergen labelling of all food which is lacking and there is no vegan butter which is disappointing. The reason for dropping the two stars besides the allergen food labelling is the bedding. The first night we went to bed late and to our dismay the topper on the bed felt like sleeping on horse hair - scratchy and fibrous and horrible to sleep on. Incredibly we were told this is standard bedding for the Marriott - its horrifically uncomfortable and then when I peeled back the sheet, found it was stained which was nasty. We were told there was no alternative hypoallergenic topper available as they were all booked out however the next evening we came back to the hotel and found the topper was changed to hypoallergenic feather one and it was like sleeping on a completely different bed. An apology card and some hors d’oeuvres were in the room too which was appreciated.

Good location however, beds were so uncomfortable, both my husband and I had terrible back pain. We also were put in a room that had a connection to another room and could hear everything in that room, from her phone conversations to going to the toilet, no sense of privacy. Staff did nothing to compensate when we told them, telling us the people would leave that night. Following night, had terrible construction noise and could hear everything outside. Despite having a nice fit out, staff were not helpful, and noise made the stay very poor.

The staff were very nice, the room was ready two hours before we even should’ve been able to check in. The room was clean prepared and had all the amenities that we would like. I was just the right size. Excellent location very nice staff would suggest it to anyone that wants to have a good look around Brussels with a short walk places. Sidenote, they also have refillable water from a purified machine that can give you hot and cold water, which I found quite lovely.

Property was well kept, Holiday decor was amazing. Could not get enough of buffet breakfast it was absolutely Delishhhh. Want to thank the entire staff, especially Jose ( he is such a character) he was extremely helpful with directions to go around and dining recommendations.

Really good place to Stay and near everything

The fire alarm started going off at 9AM and we had to evacuate the building. No explanation was given other than active threat. Loud construction across the street also began at 7AM.

Booking for 3 adults but third bed not set up at time of check-in, and had to be repeatedly chased. Facilities in room only catered for 2 guests and again the facilities for the third guest had to be personally chased. Not a great start
