The Ghent Marriott hotel is excellent for a stay in this beautiful city. It has the best location, the nicest staff and very good facilities.

Very disappointing end to what could have been a good stay. The hotel’s location is excellent and the room itself was perfectly fine, which makes the poor service experience even more frustrating. The checkout interaction was frankly unacceptable. The front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and surprisingly argumentative over what should have been a simple guest query. Rather than listening or trying to help, the conversation became confrontational for no reason. Escalating the matter to the manager did not improve the situation—in fact, the same unhelpful and defensive attitude continued. What stood out most was the complete lack of customer service mindset. Mistakes or misunderstandings can happen anywhere, but professionalism, courtesy, and a willingness to resolve issues are the minimum one expects from hospitality staff, especially management. A hotel stay is judged not only by the room and location, but by how guests are treated. Unfortunately, the conduct of the staff at checkout left a very poor final impression, and based on that experience, I would not stay here again. And I recommend no one else does as well.

Péssima experiência. Cobrança indevida de diárias já pagas através do Hoteis.com e despesas não efetuadas, no cartão de crédito, informado no checkin, em garantia de despesas extras. Lançamentos detectados após a saída e viagem internacional. Informado, o hotel não se dignou a responder. Aborrecimento enorme para contestar a cobrança pelo cartão, ainda não resolvida. Os funcionários não falam inglês, apenas o idioma local, jovens despreparadas para front desk, o que tornou difícil algumas informações. O café da manhã deixou muito a desejar. O hotel não merece a indicação pontuada. Não recomendo.

Excellent hotel right on the canal in old town. Great facilities, parking ( although a little expensive) aircon for those hot days. Would absolutely stay again.

This property has got to be one of the absolute best to stay at in Ghent. Location could not be better and more beautiful. Hotel was not notch in terms of cleanliness, room size, staff, and accommodations. Would stay here again every time!

I do like this hotel, despite the hiccup(s) we had at the onset of check-in. I would like to send a thank you to Ilayda, who eventually got us checked into our room. She went well above and beyond and it did not go unnoticed. She not only corrected the issues but also made up for the mishaps, immediately. Ilayda wanted to assure us that our stay at Ghent Marriott Hotel, would be as great as we expected it…and because of her, it finally was. Our room was nice and spacious. Staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast was good, I just wished they served waffles as part of the buffet breakfast. We sat at the bar 2 nights in a row, and had drinks…the lobby/bar area is beautiful. Victoria, did check on us after we checked out of our room, as we sat in the lobby waiting for our ride to the train station. She did seem very genuine, in asking about our stay…which I appreciate. However, Ilayda saved the day and our stay.

This was in an exceptional location. If you like the idea of being in an old part of town but prefer to stay in a modern hotel this is a great option. Easy to find, parking on site, helpful and happy staff and comfortable rooms.

La ubicación de este hotel es excelente para poder salir a recorrer todas las zonas turísticas de Gante caminando. Es la mejor ubicación y el servicio excelente y las habitaciones muy bonitas.
