Mystic River Resort

Facilities: Clean room; shower a bit weak; I suggest changing the lighting fixtures to all 3000K instead of mixing warm and cold colors. The cold color temperature really gives a cheap feel. Service: Nice staffs. Friendly owner. Food: Too expensive for the quality. Special dinner menu had no price written and surprised us how expensive it was for the small portion. Premium price is fine but the quality needs to match up. There are great restaurants in the village, and belize is not lack of good food. I think it's worth consulting a good reputable chelf to curate the menu for this hotel. Wild life: Monkeys are not there for December yet but lots of different types of birds. I enjoyed watching the feeding in the restaurant in the morning. Additional thought: The hotel is designed by the owner themselves and built by the staffs who are still working there. It brought a personal touch after talking to them and learning about how this place was established. Every stone work, every road design, was designed and made by these people who really loves this place. I think it's a missed opportunity that they don't show you that, you kind of have to find the right person to chat to and ask. We are lucky to made a friend there, and after learning about the history, was appreciating the place more.

Outstanding! It was my first time in Belize and I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was great. The rooms and restaurant were excellent, but what made the trip special was the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, genuine, and, overall, fun to be around. Five stars!

Staff was absolutely amazing! We arrived late and front office had restaurant stay open to serve us after a long day of travel. The staff knew us by name and always greeted us with smiles and were genuinely interested in how our days adventure were. Highly recommend this resort

We had a 12/10 experience!! The grounds are absolutely incredible of this resort. The accommodations are gorgeous (we stayed in a room with a small plunge pool and would highly recommend). The staff are so attentive and lovely - particularly Florita as our server encouraging us to try new foods ... All grown on site if you can believe it!! We did a few tours with Mystic River as well and had two amazing experiences with Leslie. His passion for bird watching was contagious! The food ... Incredible. Every meal was delicious. You must visit the onsite garden - I couldn't believe my eyes the variety of fruit and vegetables they were growing. I'm not sure I can say enough amazing things about this place. Coffee in the most beautiful place watching toucans fly tree to tree?? A dream. I will definitely be back - book immediately!

Mystic River Resort is a beautiful property, with awesome accommodations and staff. What the owners have thoughtfully built in the jungle is really impressive. If we're back in the area, we'll stay here again.

The resort itself is located about 30min away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio and its situated right along the Macal River which made for perfect water sounds in the mornings and at night. You’ll hear birds chirping, and it’s just so peaceful. The staff can organize rides for you to go anywhere you like, and the food at the restaurant is amazing!

The grounds are beautiful, service was really nice. However, the resort should come with warning, there is no air conditioning or dehumidifier in the room therefore you are sleeping on the wet mattress under wet cover wearing wet sleepwear. It would also be nice to have coffee maker in the room as some of us are early birds and don't want to wait until 6 am.

Everything was overall very nice and people were sweet, but the shower was rough! It was either burning hot or freezing cold we did all the things the said but could only get a warm comfortable temp for like 3 seconds. I called them to come 4 times and it just never got better. It was tough because we have a lot of curly hair to try and wash and we’re doing lots of activities.

The staff and service was impeccable and is the highlight of the experience here. The grounds are beautiful We were here during slow season so not much going on. The tour was very good. The only reason for the four stars was we were disappointed in the breakfast and lunch. Dinners were better but I think the main issue was we were the only people there.

Loved it

The people of Belize are wonderful. Everyone we met went out of their way to make our stay amazing. The food was great at the restaurant and the drinks at the bar perfect. Our room overlooked the river and our dip pool was woderful after long days at the Mayan ruins. We will go back in the future.

Mystic River was amazing. The staff were so knowledgeable and nice. Incredibly relaxing.

Staff really made the whole difference for this experience. Everyone was so kind and helpful and went out of their way to make my time in Cayo the best possible. When an injury made my original plans impossible, they were ready with suggestions tor excursions and tours. I can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Mystic River! It's a beautiful resort! The staff are all so amazing! They are so kind and helpful! The food was delicious and the room was comfortable and so nice. My husband and I have nothing but raves for this resort! You will not be disappointed! The tour guides are super knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a great experience.

If I could give 6 stars I would. From the moment we arrived and even before our arrival the staff was proactive and attentive. It was my husbands birthday and they decorated the room and had a table in the restaurant decorated for us with a cake. My mother in law stayed with us and they converted the living room sofa to a bed. The food was great with cheese made on property abd vegetables from their own garden. You truly feel like you are staying in a jungle oasis. We will definitely be back.

My family just had a fantastic trip to Mystic River Resort. We enjoyed the property, the canoes, hiking trails, excursions and the pool. The property is well-maintained and the service is excellent. Every one was so helpful and nice. We will be back!
