Everything was good

My recent stay at the Miramar was a mixed experience with positive memorable highlights, but unfortunately a couple of negative experiences overshadowed my stay. I was staying solo at the hotel for 4-nights, and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent facilities of the rooftop pool, gym and extensive breakfast. For someone who travels over 100 nights a year, this was one of the best breakfasts in variety, quality and added touches that I wouldn’t usually expect. The staff were attentive, always willing to help and I recall lovely interactions with the concierge daily. Unfortunately my stay was overshadowed by an unusual no-visitor policy in the hotel, meaning no visitor can enter the hotel beyond the lobby. I can understand this for security purposes and avoiding unpaying guests in using hotel facilities, e.g pool and gym. But for business travellers, this could be extremely limiting with not allowing guests to accommodate paying clients in the restaurant / bar, or collaborate in working areas. It was the handling of my complaint which was the frustrating element, with delays in response from management, the chasing with front desk, and often condescending comments and interruptions from staff when discussing my complaint. Additionally, due to the high security from the hotel, I felt a lack of privacy with someone watching your every move and I see this is a common thought noted by other reviewers. Overall, I’m highly satisfied by the hotels offering, but disappointed.

My stay was fantastic! It’s in a perfect location right in front of Copacabana beach and walkable distance to Ipanema. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were great and friendly. The pool rooftop has amazing views. I will definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at the Miramar by Windsor Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, and a lot of what made our trip so enjoyable was this hotel and its incredible staff. Before arriving, I was nervous because we only speak English, but communication was never a problem. There were several English-speaking staff members throughout the hotel and restaurant, and everyone was kind, accommodating, and genuinely interested in our comfort. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. We stayed in an ocean-view room, and the view was incredible. The room also included thoughtful extras like a complimentary fruit plate, robes, slippers, and a safe for our belongings. The rooftop pool was one of the highlights of our stay. The views were amazing, and having food and drink service up there made it even better. We also opted for the breakfast, which was excellent and offered tons of options. One of the best features was the omelette station where you picked your ingredients and they cooked a fresh omelette and brought it right to your table. The hotel also offered room service, which we didn’t use, but I imagine it was great as well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Copacabana area, and I would definitely stay here again.

Si vuelvo a Rio de Janeiro me quedaría aquí sin duda. El desayuno maravilloso, la habitación divina. La cama es muy cómoda, las almohadas y todo. Me encantó. Miy buena ubicación. Te dan sillas y sombrilla en la playa. Fue un placer quedarme aquí.

Me and my husband visited in may and we found the hotel great. In an ideal location as close to ipanema side and slightly away from The main cocopabana strip. Also walking distance to lots of food and bars. Also has a lovely rooftop which we enjoyed for relaxing drinks with views of copabana beach.

Clean room and great staff!

I had a spacious room in good decorative condition with a direct view of Copacàbana beach. Strangely given the room size, wardrobe space was limited.The bathroom was also large and included an excellent shower. The breakfast buffet was superb. The roof top bar and pool was a welcome feature. The hotel sits at the southern end of Copacabana, so Ipanema is also within easy reach. Finally all the staff from the managers to the cleaners were welcoming and efficient. A difficult property to fault.

El hotel necesita un lavado de cara, las instalaciones se han quedado anticuadas para un 5*. El desayuno horrible, todo industrial y de mala calidad, relación calidad precio muy negativa. No lo recomiendo.

Not a 5-star property. The "5-star" label here is used the way "artisanal" is used on gas station sandwiches. It's a 3-star in a 5-star costume. Don't fall for it. Nuts & bolts below.. THE UGLY: They give you coffee pods but ask for ONE tea bag? That's extra. What arrives? An empty cup, a single tea bag, and a sachet holder with a dozen sugar packets. I wish I was joking. Checkout is worse, You're held hostage while housekeeping inspects the minibar to confirm you didn't steal their precious 6 mini bottles of Red Label and vodka. Because apparently the $500 USD deposit on your card isn't enough collateral for $12 worth of liquor. Five star energy right there THE BAD: The "Luxo com cama casal" upgrade is a straight-up scam. You pay premium for extra space that's basically a sealed-off balcony with zero function, an alcove cosplaying as a room. Save your money, book any sea-facing room. Oh, and even at the higher category, breakfast isn't included. The AC operates on vibes, not the temperature dial. Soap and moisturizer quality screams budget motel. And if you're a light sleeper, good luck, the sea-facing walls and windows let in every creak and groan like they're made of cardboard. THE GOOD: Belldesk staff are genuinely wonderful. Sea views are lovely. It's right on the beach. That's it. That's the list.

Loved my stay. I felt very good the whole stay. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Very friendly and willing to help with anything.

The staff went above and beyond. Carlos was the best!! So polite and very professional. He always had a smile on his face. Please give that young gentleman a raise or a promotion. Great guy! The breakfast was excellent. A lot of choices. The free chairs on the beach were a great perk too. The pool was clean and the food at the pool area was delicious. The whole staff in every department made you feel like royalty. The beds were comfortable and smelled very clean. My only negative review was the gym. It’s very small and doesn’t have a flat bench or heavy weights. We had to go buy a gym membership up the block. Not a big deal for many but wanted to share my input. The AC was worked great and they also have 24hr room service. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making this a memorable stay!
