Douglas Fir Resort and Chalets

We traveled with 2 littles and the water park and play zone was a nice addition! Overall it was nice. A little outdated and could have used a few more kitchenware, but we had what we needed. Definitely coming back!

Hot tub was great.

property was very quiet and enjoyed making fires every night.Lot of maintenance and repair work in the rooms.

Room was spacious and comfortable, would be good for a bigger group, the full kitchen was nice and had a big patio/balcony, big outdoor hot tub but not the hottest water

The area is unparalleled for beauty and quiet while being a short walk from downtown Banff. Douglas Fir Resort has a particularly excellent location. I hadn't realized till my most recent trip the extensiveness of the hiking trails on it's property, leading to Hoodoo Viewpoint and other areas. These woods and trails were right outside my room (Return of the Jedi Trail! Loved that!). This time I stayed in a condo with full kitchen, balcony and wood fireplace on the 3rd floor. The room is a little older but the views and privacy were unparalleled. The Douglas Fir team was very kind and helpful especially Jess at the games/pool and James the manager. The pool area, again is a bit older but has large nice change rooms and the outside hottub is large and has good mountain views. No sauna or steam room. The 2 watersides are quite fun- don't let being older stop you trying. The only pity was it wasnt open at 9am as advertised. I was told it was because it was quieter shoulder season so it was posted on the door to open at 2:30pm. The room and bathroom were clean and bed and pillows very comfortable, lots of wood provided free. The condo building was very convenient with elevator and parkade and luggage trollies if needed

Water slides were perfect for the kids. Very family friendly environment.

Staff great, but many things not working or broken due to age of property, needs some TLC.

Well equipped room with a kitchen for cooking facilities, big patio area at our 3rd floor room for sitting outside or a kid to run around. Elevator from the parkade was helpful to bring stuff to the room. The only obstacle was getting to the hot tub/pool area because it was down 18 stairs and if have mobility issues it makes it difficult. We will look forward to staying again.

It was what we expected for the price point. My only complaint would be the pool hours. Not opening until 2:30pm is annoying. A nice morning hot tub would have been amazing.

My son loved the waterpark and play place. This is the best place to stay at in Banff if you have kids!

James is very professional and easy to deal with. Maintenance guy is incredible!!! Room service is good. Great service overall.

My kids love the pool with slides. The outdoor hot tub is nice too.

This place can be an affordable option for many guests. The property has been a round for a long time and age is catching up on this place. It has a great location up on Tunnel mountain with free parking and it is quiet there. You will definitely enjoy the space of the rooms compared to others in Banff. Just dont expect a new finishes or perfection like other options in Banff.

This is a great place to get away with the family for a weekend. It's great for the kiddos with the pools and outdoor hot tub. Location is only a 5 minute drive to the city so very good location. I quite enjoyed the wood burning fireplace in the rooms with lots of firewood available. Overall, I would definitely come back here again!

Will not stay here again, rooms are dirty, random hairs in bed from previous people in all three beds, hot tub is dirty, this place could definitely need a upgrade, the indoor swimming pool and sauna have been closed for years, hot tub is supper sandy from tiles falling out, disappointing stay, they charge way to much for the worth of the place.

Outdoor hot tub was warm, rooms were very hot and had to walk through the parkade for pool access. No breakfast included
