Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Calgary- University Northwest

We have stayed here many times and it has always been our go-to hotel in Calgary. Unfortunately, the current renovations are taking a toll on the overall experience. Yesterday, finding the lobby entrance was challenging due to the scaffolding and construction. The interior carpets are also showing considerable wear. That said, our room was great and the staff were friendly and helpful as always. As a Hilton Honors member, I was disappointed that I could not access the internet without rejoining Hilton Honors. There was nowhere to enter my membership number, so I chose not to use the service. Breakfast was the usual offering, with plenty of coffee available. We will likely wait until the renovations are complete before returning. Having said that, we do not currently have any Calgary trips planned for a while anyway.

An amazing place to stay!! Great staff, clean rooms and it’s location is absolutely perfect pretty much for anything your looking for or to do!! Will be back this time next year, and will MOST DEFINITELY be staying here again!! Can’t wait!! Oh, and their breakfast they offer every morning is one of the best and biggest breakfast I’ve had offered to me at any hotel. Thank you for the AMAZING stay!!! See you guys next year!!!

Nice property

I thought most places had a system so you could sign into your Netflix account. This hotel had no way to stream or watch a movie. In the old days you could even rent a tape in the lobby. The pool was closed for renovation. If the pool was available and there was a movie service available I would give 5 stars.

Hotel is in the midst of renovations so expect some inconveniences and noise during the day. My King room was very clean and cleaning staff were pleasant and helpful. Some fixtures are dated but useable. Complimentary breakfast was comparable to similar level hotels. As mentioned in another review bottled water in the room would be a welcome addition. I appreciated the underground parking. Reno’s caused some disruption to entering and leaving the property.

The property as described on Expedia when booking was deceptive. The entire hotel is under construction. There is no pool and water slide. It's completely enclosed in plastic so that's your view out the windows. We booked only for the pool and water slide which didn't exist. We had to move hotels travelling with two small girls. Expedia wouldn't refund our full amount and offered $100 in credits to use on their website but they wouldn't be available for 72 hours so I couldn't use the money to book a new hotel. Booking Anne hotel the day off was way more expensive. Ruined the trip for my two little girls, spent three hours on the phone with expedia instead of making memories with my kids. Had to pack up everything again to move hotels which was double the price than if I had booked days ago. Very disappointed. Feel like I got scammed. This shouldn't be allowed.

The hotel was totally under construction.Parking was sketchy with all of the workers and equipment with tight turns.I bought a tv dinner that was terrible for 7$ because they had zero food out.The breakfast was ok same as every other hotel.I would never go back again.

The pool is closed, we were able to use the pool at the neighboring hotel, however there is no slide at the other hotel. We were lead astray with the pictures of pool and waterside on the expedia ad. There are renovations happening, they didnt affect our stay, the inside of the hotel was nicely kept. The breakfast was not good. Definitely overpriced, overall, for the quality of hotel. It was fine for the one night, it gave us a place to sleep, and the shower was nice, but overpriced for the quality of breakfast provided, and the amount of renovations happening.
