Stayed one night, and found staff very accommodating. Room had a fridge & microwave, and very clean. Very convenient to all stores as located downtown at the Square.

We enjoyed our staff at Hotel Bedford. We enjoyed the ambiance, and cleanliness of the hotel. The shower was great with lots of pressure and the beds were quite comfortable. The location is perfect and within walking distance of everything. We basically parked our car and walked everywhere. The pub is great with reasonable prices and a nice selection on the menu.

Great place to stay in central downtown Goderich! Excellent location within walking distance to the local museums and restaurants. Clean room with TV, microwave, and queen bed. A little snug, but perfect for a one night stay. We had dinner at the restaurant underneath, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. Food was decent, and the drinks were good. Will stay here again if back in Goderich!

I have traveled more than most people, and I can safely say this is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in.
We checked in about a hour after the alotted check-in time. There was a man in our room when we walked in. He was cleaning the room (I think), though unfortunately could not speak a word of English, so couldn’t communicate what was happening.
The bathroom had black mold, the carpeted floors were disgusting, there was no sheet on my bed, just a bare duvet with no cover. There was gunk from a million years ago on the lampshades, and the bathroom light fixture was broken and missing half the lights.
The capper was a festival in the square across from the hotel which played loud music until 12:30 am. I am all for festivals and people having fun, but there is no chance I would have stayed there knowing this. The paper thin walls and windows didn’t stand a chance against the booming bass lines.
All of this, and it was about $250 for the night. It’s mind blowing to me that this place can operate this way.

The rooms and carpets were sooo dated. The room had a fridge and it work well the AC worked also. The room had very old furniture and old blankets. Visible dust and dust bunnies around the back of old wood furniture. Its right in the heart of the square. Worth the price I guess.

If location is what you are after then this has a great one, right on the square, easy to walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel is very dated, rooms are small. They did have certain items in the them that helped, a fridge and a small microwave however no coffee maker and the continental breakfast that was being offered did not start until 8:30, and it was showing that the coffee maker was out of order. So for a morning coffee drinker not helpful.

1. This hotel does not have an elevator.
2.The room we stayed in only had a window air conditioning unit which is okay except the room was so very warm and the window was wide open letting in the very warm outside air.
3.Breakfast is not served early, we could not take advantage of it because it was too late for us.

Book anywhere else, we experienced no customer service, never a counter staff to be found, very stuffy, outdated hallways, beds from 1970's and the list goes on and on! and apparently the building is for sale, and we can see why! Please book anywhere else, also note all the summer construction and parking is a logistical nightmare, many other better options near by!! You're welcome

The AC unit in our room was leaking and flooded half of the carpet in the room. When we brought it up to the staff they seemed unfazed by it even though that it was brought to their attention by previous guests. There were no available outlets anywhere near the beds. No elevator. It’s old and has no real amenities. The only benefits they had was that there was bar/restaurant downstairs and it was in the town square. It was also almost certainly haunted.

I’m not one to leave reviews but this is important. I have never been so disgusted or ready to leave a motel/hotel so fast.
While a cool building downtown, and ok first appearance, the room was not clean: dirty/smelly very old carpet, hair on shower walls, tile broken, stained sheets, used shampoos left from previous users, towels so thin like they had been used for 100years. In the morning the “breakfast” that was offered was stale cereal, sour milk and an obvious lack of care or consideration for travelling guests. SO many improvements could be made. Highly disappointed.

I almost never write negative reviews, but this hotel experience was so unacceptable that it absolutely demands one. If I could give a score below zero, this property would earn it without hesitation.
The problems started immediately. Check‑in was abrupt and unhelpful—keys were handed over with no explanation about parking, amenities, or anything else. The room itself was a disaster: cramped, musty, overheated, and arranged so poorly that a microwave had been shoved onto an antique desk, making the desk completely unusable. The TV was awkwardly propped against the adjoining door, which did nothing to block the constant noise coming from the room next door. Conversations, footsteps, and banging carried straight through the wall, making it impossible to relax.
The condition of the room was equally unacceptable. The carpet was worn, the bathtub tiles had visible black mold, and several floor tiles were loose. But the worst moment came at bedtime, when we pulled back the covers and found a large, disgusting stain on the bedsheets.
No one was at the front desk, so I had to call the hotel directly just to reach someone. When I requested a different room, I was told none were available. I then asked for clean bedding. After a 30‑minute wait, someone finally brought sheets—only for us to be expected to change the bed ourselves.
This stay was not just disappointing; it was unsanitary, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Please think carefully before booking here.

Booked a king room. Room was tiny, smelt bad and had old dirty carpet. No fire safety plan posted in room.
Tv did not work, no bedside table, no alarm clock, no chair, no coffee maker, no microwave. Fairly certain black mold ceiling in bathroom. Curtains broken.
