Nice place

Rooms very pretty clean by there has just been a conference so a few things found under dining tables that should have been cleaned. Turkey bacon was disgusting at Sunday breakfast they used up all other bacon etc. More organization for supplies needed when having conferences

Property was clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come again.

This was the perfect getaway randomly found it and me and my husband are making it our go to every year private beach,golfing,pub,pool,hot tub, hammocks. Also quick walk down the beach to the town which was full of food desserts and shopping. So much fun.

Loved staying at Oakwood

Stayed here for the Labour Day long weekend. I knew full well that I'd have more to do there had I golfed. Facilities are good, as well as the room. The bed was very comfortable. One complaint about the room is that the balcony looked out onto an embankment of trees blocking much of the view of the course. The breakfast and lunch/dinner options were good, but pricey. The dinners were more worth it at Dave's Pub, but I only had the breakfast buffet once as the cost dodn't justify the selection. The major complaint I have with Dave's Pub was the service. The first meal had decent service, but not the second one. It felt I was being hurried up a little bit. Lastly, the private beach was good. The sand was soft and the water was cold, but shallow. Overall, good, but not great. If I stay again, I'd eat my meals elsewhere.

For a reservation of 4, you find 2 towels only. As well the paper tissue was out, toilet paper too. Not impressed at all and waiting time at reception is terrible. Probably because I catched a group of people checking and it was hours waiting.

I hated the onions in the carbonara pasta at Dave’s pub. Not a big deal to most people but to us it was . Other than that great resort

The property itself is beautiful and well kept. The rooms could use a facelift along with the outdated furniture. Upon checking in, we were told at 3:30 to come back at 4:00. I asked if we could do the check in now and come back at 4:00 for the room key but that was denied. I came back at 4:00 along with a room full of other guests. We finally got checked in about an hour later. They need more staff or a change of policies!!!

Rooms are a bit dated but nice and clean as a whistle. The resort is very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant and upscale.Breakfast buffet was good but I was a bit disappointed that there was no decals coffee and no oatmeal for us of advanced years. Would definitely stay again.

This resort has great potential thanks to its beautiful location and layout, but it falls short in key areas. The facilities are outdated, many areas are poorly maintained, and overall cleanliness is lacking. It’s extremely overpriced for what’s offered. One of the biggest issues is accessibility—there are no elevators, no ramps, and many places are difficult or impossible to access for guests with disabilities or special needs. Families with mobility-impaired or neurodivergent children will find many parts of the resort challenging or unsafe. Additionally, there are no dietary accommodations, and the staff isn’t equipped to handle food allergies or restrictions. That said, the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to help within the limitations of the resort itself. With serious upgrades and a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, this place could be amazing. But as it stands, it’s not worth the high price for guests who need modern, clean, and accommodating facilities.

It’s a great spot to spend time with family and enjoy the beach.

More expensive when booked on Expedia! On Expedia ad breakfast was included but Oakwood claimed it was not included! Disappointing!

The hotel needs a huge Reno and for the price they are charging it’s a complete rip off. Our original room had carpet that was damp snd smelled and the bathroom was moldy with cob webs. We switched rooms to the main lodge and it was a bit better because the floor was laminate and no pealing and moldywallpaper in the bathroom. The staff was amazing and I feel bad that they have to put up with multiple complaints. Never saw any management on the property. The only thing they have going is that they have a private beach access. For those people that do not want to fight the crowds at Grand Bends main beach it is a good location. Much better options for Grand Bend. Would not stay there again.

The room I pre booked and requested (backing onto the golf course) wasn’t ready upon arrival at check in time (4PM) so we were given another room which was away from my guests, without a balcony or walk out in a different building and dirty upon arrival-the bathroom floor had hair and the refrigerator was not cleaned.

We really liked the private beach on Lake Huron.

One of the worst experiences for the most expensive one night stay I have ever had and I am a global traveller. This place is a very old, run down lodge not worth $480 per night plus 7% resort fees plus 13% taxes. The pictures do not justify its ugliness. Though it depends on your expectations and experiences. The only positive point is its location to the main street and it's private beach. Staff, specially the so called supervisor are rude and treat you very differently if you are of minority. Our room was not ready at check-in and was not ready at the stated check-in time of 4 p.m. the excuse was that room is still not ready and the housekeeping was behind. At 5:30 when I complained, the so called supervisor blamed me for booking the room the day of. Can you believe that? I booked the place in the morning via Expedia and check-in at 2 p.m. the so called supervisor was blaming me for their room not being ready for the 4:00 p.m. check-in time as their own policy and was unhappy that I was aggetatand and upset for her gas lighting me. The other admin who helped us to find out that our room was still not ready at 5, provided us late check out; however the so called supervisor was making me feel like she did it. When we got to the room, only one key was working, not enough towels for all of us, only one soap, nothing else and the toilet seat, well let me tell you how bad that was. I am sure with the amount of money they charge they can afford to change their toilet seats.

The private beach was really nice. Indoor pool was nice. The staff was very helpful!
