I stayed in the resort July 14th to July 17th, 2026. Before leaving for the trip heavy wildfire smoke set in across the area. Very heavy. Of course I can’t blame the resort for that. The issue is that I called and tried to rebook my reservation for late August. There was zero compromise, zero willingness to work with me and they even went as far as to tell me that there was no smoke there and no warnings about it, when in fact there were both. I understand that a resort can’t control the smoke, but I did have some expectation that they would be reasonable people about sometimes that would have such a profound effect on our stay. I would say that an appropriate reaction would be not to refund people, but to allow them to rebook. I really wouldn’t recommend dealing with them.

I have stayed at this property in the past. My experience this time:'s'' 1. the front desk staff was nice enough, noted that while staff was attending to me; the other staff was more receptive to the guests, offering additional information about the property, offering arm bands so guests did not have to come back the next day, and overall explaining. 2. Property has gone down hill. My husband has golfed here in the past; now does not open until 09:00, the T's are not well maintained, nor are the greens. 3. In our room; the iron would not turn off without unplugging it, the shower curtain rod was rusted out, the towel bar was coming out from the wall, the hair dryer stopped working all of a sudden. There are no microwaves. We will not stay here again

This hotel has so much potential. Indoor pool, beach access, beautiful property. Unfortunately, it seems there is no upkeep on normal maintenance and is in desperate need of a good clean. The hallway and carpeting in our room were sandy, as was the bathroom. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom are falling (looks heavy with a water leak) and there was thick black mold growing in and around the tub. When we checked in, my toddler had just fallen asleep and older daughter was near sleep and I didn’t notice the bathroom until after we tucked them in to bed, otherwise I would have asked for a new room. The floor by the tub was squishy, wet, and when I stepped on it a gush of water with black mold came oozing out. I mopped it up with towels and used baby wipes to clean up the mold, and while I was bent down noticed vomit stains dripping down the base of the toilet, which I also cleaned. I called the front desk for towels and wS going to explain what happened but they never arrived. I had to track down an employee with a cart in the morning to give us new towels. She said she would speak to management but I also don’t think that happened. When I spoke with the front desk, the girl working there said “oh my god you’re the second person complaining about mold today!” but that was it. I didn’t want to make a stink, this was a special little few night “girls trip” with my three daughters but I’m bothered by how uninterested staff was in finding a solution.

We had a great visit over all. The grounds and gardens were lovely and well kept and the beach access and pool were wonderful. The interior of the buildings is ready for an update but service was great. We had booked a standard room in the pine lodge. It was not as clean or spacious as hoped and had only black out blinds on a very dirty window. The hairdryer and Keurig coffee machine didn’t work. We were able to move across the hall to the ‘deluxe’ room which had a larger fridge, working appliances and a lovely patio over looking the greens. I would highly recommend this option over the front facing rooms with no balcony or patio. The second floor room was perfect for my mom as there were no stairs to walk as there were in other areas. Breakfast buffet was okay- think diner more than resort breakfast but it hit the spot. Overall we enjoyed the facilities and access to the lake was wonderful.

Overall the resort is nice, especially the grounds and the beach access which are both beautiful. It is also conveniently located. As noted with many reviews the actual rooms themselves are old and somewhat dated. They do serve their purpose and the beds are comfortable are the cleanliness can definitely be improved. The indoor pool is a nice feature (and i was looking forward to having the kids swim int it) but it could be better cleaned and better maintained. I, personally, didn't feel comfortable swimming in it. Also i noted that some buildings have rooms with vinyl flooring and others are still carpeted, so if this is an important aspect for you (for allergies etc) be specific with this when you book. So overall i'm happy to recommend it and likely would stay again but just wanted to provide a realistic picture.

For an older crowd this resort is perfect, it's private and quiet. The private beach access is beautiful and allows for a relaxing getaway. The amenities are a bit dated and the TV didn't work great (but mostly didn't matter since we were on vacation to get outside, it's just when you want some down time or when the weather was bad it had limited channels and the reception cut in and out). The indoor pool is nice but the hot tub filter wasn't working the first night we were there so the water was dirty and the next day it was drained to empty (good it was being cleaned but unfortunately unusable). The on-site restaurant pub was great but a little pricey. Overall fairly good value and a nice place to stay if you don't want to hang with the twenty-something beach crowd. Golf course looked nice for a small 9 hole executive course. The grounds were pretty and lots of places to just sit and relax.

Had a nice stay with my kids. The pool and beach was amazing. If you are not a golfer, there is not much else to do in the resort. The food/ snacks options are limited. We didn’t eat at the restaurant in resort, I found it was pricey to have to pay for two kids who are extremely picky and will only end up eating fries. So we just ordered from outside. There is a Tim Hortons+Pizza Hut not too far away. Parking was available in the resort. We went during the Victoria day long weekend and I found it was busy with a lot of younger crowd. It did get loud at night, I am glad I had a noise machine on so the kids didn’t wake up. I also didn’t appreciate the fact that there was no microwave in the room but guests could rent it for $25 extra, so if you have kids and need to warm their food/ milk, be mindful of that. I find the room price was also quite expensive for a standard 2 queens bedroom. However, it was a nice relaxing stay for us overall. I enjoyed the scenic drive a lot.
