Hotel Maea Hare Repa

Where do I start? Patricio met us at the airport with a smile, hug and a necklace of flowers. There followed a short car ride to Mara Hare Repa, where we are greeted by the owner, Marcello like two old friends with glasses of fresh juice. Accommodation was basic but clean and bright. Perfect base for sleeping then going off to explore the island. In either direction a short walk to the sea with rock pools, Moai heads, surfing and eateries. A short walk in the opposite direction will bring you to a supermarket and the main street where you can buy artisanal gifts from silver jewellery to carved Moai heads made from stone or carved from wood. Also here you can hire quad bikes or bycicles to explore the island. We were lucky enough that the owner was available to take us to the volcano for photos and then onto the beach where we swam in the Pacific ocean and ate the most delicious local tuna. The breakfasts and evening meals we had at the hotel were made from fresh ingredients, made to order and delicious. M and P helped make our days in Rapa Nui truly memorable. Friendly, helpful and professional we can't wait to visit again. Thank you very much M and P, we will be returning.
