Great location! Got a room upgrade and loved the room. The towels felt so clean and soft, it was a really nice room. Location was conveniently located near all the shops and restaurants, we didn’t have to walk far to grab food. The staff was really nice.

[+] 1. Well situated beside the Wangfujing Shopping street 2. Large room [-] 1. No waiting poach for cars 2. Lack of service attitudes for some staff - e.g. do not greet customer with a smile 3. Relatively dated room 4. The food at the executive lounge and buffet breakfast were almost 90% identical for the 5 days of stay. 5. Air conditioning for the room was turned off for the main hall and only left the walkway. When requested for a fan, was told all has been sent out. Instead, was told to open the window which did not help at all.

This hotel is in a very good location, but unfortunately the property is in serious need of renovation. The air conditioning does not work, the wall paint is peeling, and the price is far too high for the condition of the hotel. We paid over $600 per night, which is completely unjustified given the issues we experienced. The hotel advertises that it has air conditioning. However, when we asked staff to check it in our room, it was clearly not working. Initially, they claimed that air conditioning is not common in Beijing, which is simply not true. I have visited Beijing many times and understand that some properties may not have AC—but this hotel clearly advertises it, and they even confirmed it to us before our arrival. After that, their explanation changed. They told us to open the windows and blinds and said they would send a technician. The technician later confirmed that the AC does not work. The only solution offered was a portable cooler that requires adding ice every two hours, which is extremely inconvenient and not acceptable for a hotel at this price point. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the high cost. The hotel needs major improvements and should not advertise amenities that are not actually functional.

The best part about the stay is the staff that made it welcoming and safe. This is my 2nd stay in this hotel. Upon arrival in the lobby, i was greeted by my name by the manager, Ivanka (Zhang Lin). She recognised me from my previous stay and email correspondence. I’ve stayed in several hotels in various countries but this is the first time i was greeted by my name upon entering the lobby before providing any identification. The attention to detail is amazing, every note and request mentioned in my email has been acknowledged and met. Ivanka said that she remembered my flight arrival timing and came out to welcome me. This is crazy good service since I’m just a regular hilton member. The room was better than the one in my previous stay, granted there were some minor issues since this is a really old hotel. The staff made the stay enjoyable. Everyone always greets you with a smile whenever you enter the hotel premise. Since it is still considered winter, the central aircon was turned off. However, an air cooler is provided to us throughout the stay on request. The staff also made sure to fill the air cooler with ice and cold water near the evening (outside of housekeeping hours) so that the room is cool enough throughout the night. Ivanka and the team is really meticulous. This is probably the best service i’ve ever gotten in my entire decade of travelling. The bar is set so high I’m not sure if i can ever stay in a different hotel in beijing.

Great location! Got a room upgrade and loved the room. The towels felt so clean and soft, it was a really nice room. Location was conveniently located near all the shops and restaurants, we didn’t have to walk far to grab food. The staff was really nice.

[+] 1. Well situated beside the Wangfujing Shopping street 2. Large room [-] 1. No waiting poach for cars 2. Lack of service attitudes for some staff - e.g. do not greet customer with a smile 3. Relatively dated room 4. The food at the executive lounge and buffet breakfast were almost 90% identical for the 5 days of stay. 5. Air conditioning for the room was turned off for the main hall and only left the walkway. When requested for a fan, was told all has been sent out. Instead, was told to open the window which did not help at all.
