The hotel is in a great location, but when you open the front door from the road you are immediately met with the smell of damp. The room was small but was expected for the type of property, however there were lots of missing items in the room that was listed/advertised. There was no tea or coffee, no soap or shampoo and only one single small towel for a double room. I messaged the hotel several times to check where I could find these items outside of the room, as I thought they may have just forgotten to put the items in. However, their response told me to go and check the bathroom - of course we have checked the bathroom. The second message apologises for the inconvenience - it’s obvious they’re cutting costs here when resetting the rooms.

Internet wasn’t working mobile network doesn’t work and Otel doesn’t do anything

They say Wi-Fi is working, but Wi-Fi is not working at all and the Hotel doesn’t do anything and no Mobile reception in the room so no network no Wi-Fi that’s really bad and the Otel doesn’t even do anything to fix this issues or solve the problem

The fire alarm went off at 5am and was still going when I left et 8am so sleep wasn't that good but they have offered me 20% off my next stay

Room was lovely and was plenty big enough for three adults in Brighton for a night out. Room was clean and check in was so easy as they emailed instructions and codes for entry. Close to seafront and 10 minute walk to the Brighton Centre. Only issue was we couldn’t get on to the wifi and we tried to call for assistance but didn’t get anywhere so we had no internet/signal whilst in the room.

Didn’t receive check-in details by check-in time so had to chase this up and call up to receive details. There is no sound proofing in the property and on every occasion I’ve stayed guests have been in and out at all hours. The slamming of doors and people up and down the stairs meant I got little sleep, even though I brought earplugs with me. The only time I stay here is when the price is cheap. I wouldn’t pay more then £30 a night to stay here.

The location is fine, Tom is tiny, with the bed covering half the shower room door. Damp smell through the building, bouncy feeling floor in room and toilet (floor feels rotten), shower blocked. Positive - communication between hotel via WhatsApp was good

Don't bother, they didn't send me the code to enter the property. I phoned them when I arrived at 7.30pm in the evening and got no answer!! I had to drive to another hotel which fortunately had a spare room and had to pay again for accommodation,

My room was next to the entrance door, hearing the noises all night people in and out that’s why I don’t like it

Gave wrong WIFI code and was difficult to obtain the correct one But didnt matter anyway because the WIFI was terrible, I got faster internet by a hotspot on my phone, Otherwise the room was fine

Good points Room was quite warm Great location Keyless entry was very good Clean crisp bed linen Bad points Broken window held together with vinyl Room above guests were very noisy and disruptive up until 5am in morning. We had to be up early to work security at the half marathon which affected us during the day..

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The room was freezing, and the radiator did not work. When we mentioned this to customer service, we were simply told, “Oh yes, it’s not working.” A small heater was provided, but it did very little to warm the room. The WiFi only worked after we contacted customer service a second time to receive the correct code. We also had to request the extra blankets again and were told we needed to wait for a manager to confirm the request. Everything felt unnecessarily difficult and poorly organised. Although the hotel advertises itself as smoke-free, the corridors strongly smelled of cigarettes. We also did not feel secure, as the main entrance door to the building was often left open by other guests, meaning anyone could simply walk in. Overall, the experience was uncomfortable and frustrating.

Absolutely horrible stay, first they didn’t send us the access codes until 40 mins after we arrived. We were waiting in the rain and cold, didn’t answer calls or messages. They refused to give us the room we had booked, then tried to tell us we hadn’t booked and paid extra for a room with a bathtub, which we had sent them proof we had. There was paint peeling off of the walls, there was wiring hanging down, the shower was falling off of the wall. The water pressure is so bad you can’t shower at all. There were sharp areas on the bedside table so bad I cut myself on it. The table clearly hadn’t been cleaned as it was horrible and sticky. Not even mentioning the noise, the walls are to thin. All through the night there was literal screaming like someone was in pain, I told them multiple times and they brushed it off. Banging so loud it felt like people were physically banging on our walls. The heating was completely broken and it was freezing, they didn’t offer to replace or fix. With all of this they could only offer me a 10% refund to be used at the same hotel?? We have no intention of ever coming here again

Our room wasn’t ready on arrival we arrived at 4:30 to be sent away until 5 because it wasn’t ready when I asked to extend my stay I was given an extra hour, we had fire alarms going off constantly due to the kettle, no heating for the first 2 nights, no warning about the building works next door, no hot water, no top up of toilet tissue or tea making facilities and someone moving furniture until 5am on the top floor. The shower doesn’t really work and the sink is starting to fall off of the wall. I was really surprised as I’d stayed here previously and had no issues, I chose Avalon as it has a special meaning to me and my partner but I’d be reluctant to go here again. It’s not as well managed as previous experience.

The room was fantastic but we didn't get any sleep the room above us kept coming in and out of there room banging about on the floor going up and down the stairs.
