Up and coming area with lots happening,Birmingham as a whole is trying to rebuild post COVID. The motel is working hard to upgrade all facilities, so be prepared for a little noise ( but manageable). Staff were really helpful

Good location. Clean and tidy. Polite staff. Good sleep and quiet enough. Great breakfast and not tok busy. Good central location and great position for getting to the O2 academy.

The hotel was very modern and cool and the reception area was funky. The only issue was on arrival there was only one member of staff working who had to serve a large round of drinks before checking me in!

First they couldnt find my booking. Then the room I was given had no TV remote. Then the TV wasn't wired up. The new room I moved into had no heating. The room I moved into after that stunk like a dead body had been in there. Never again!

This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishments, so don’t expect a lie in or the ability to think straight with the constant noise happening above your head! Real shame they don’t give people a heads up.

I have stayed in the hotel a number of times before and always enjoyed it. This time it was disappointing. The room was dated. The pool table and cues need repairing. The service was poor. I asked for an iron, then a hour later I called reception and they said there was no iron.

The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the centre by regular bus service or by walking. The carpet in the room was very shabby and stained - you would expect better from a 4 star hotel. At most this is a three star hotel that needs a makeover

Couldn’t find the reception when I went in. Receptionist very shy and poor English. Receptionist also working as a barmaid and made a mistake as a result. Got a large glass of wine which was £12.50 and disgusting. Glass was filthy, barmaid noticed and got a new one but the wine was cheap and foul. Miscommunication with room so had to go in and out. Frustrating. Room (apparently being upgraded) worn and dirty. Nice bathroom but room smelly and bleach stains on carpet. Walls badly marked. Couldn’t hear tv over air conditioning. Sheets clean. Hairs and dirt on tables. Was comped breakfast but would not have paid for it, poor quality. Poor security.

Sullen reception staff, one mug in a room for two, uncomfortable pillows and a television with a sporadic channel guide that was all over the place. Big stains on most carpets, standards have dropped from the previous Pentahotel and that wasn’t high!

As a basic hotel, this is probably fine if you just need somewhere close to New Street station, without spending too much. The wifi was also very good.
But the rooms are pretty shabby, the rooms aren’t soundproofed like most hotels now (I was woken up a few times by loud people outside) and it’s next to a hand car wash, so you hear a lot of jet washers during the day.
Since it wasn’t much cheaper than a Premier Inn and more expensive than an EasyHotel, I don’t think I will be back.

The only bad thing I can say about our stay was that there was only 1 pillow each on the double bed. Normally, in every other hotel I have stayed in, there has either been 2 pillows each or 1 pillow each but 2 spare pillows somewhere in the room. Unfortunately, I didn't find another pillow so I thought it would be ok, however, I woke at 2am with back pain, so had to use a folded towel to put under my pillow, which helped a little.
