I always stay in this hotel when I visit Manchester because the hotel in the heart of the city. It is walking distance to the tram stop, shopping and dining. What I like the most are the size of the rooms. The double rooms are of very reasonable price, very spacious and always have a bathtub in the bathroom which not many hotels offer at that price. I also choose this hotel because the rooms have excellent lighting. Most hotel have very poor and dim lighting which is bad fof the eye. The rooms in this hotel have ceiling light and 2 lamps which I feel should be the minimum requirement for a standard double room.

The inside room had no aircon and just had a desktop fan. It was 33 degrees inside the room. We had to keave tbe room door open to get some cool air in. The staff member said he could not move us as tbe hotel was fully booked, but you could book a room online. There wasnt even a bar of soap in the bathroom. The shower poured water onto tbe taps and floor, I have sent this to Britania Hotels. Even after sweating so much the bed was soaked, we couldnt shower. By far, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my life. When i told my Manager what hotel I stayed in he laughed and said, i could have saved you the pain, he stayed there with the same ecperiance some time before. And, to add insult to injury, if I had booked with Britania direct, it would have been half price. Hotel a joke, Expedia, a rip off. Dont bother with either. It spoilt, what should have been a special night, and you cant turn the clock back. Be warned, stay well away.

The worst place I have ever stayed! The surrounding area felt very unsafe, the reception desk was extremely rude during check-in, and the room's cleanliness was unacceptance. This place doesn't even qualify as a proper hotel. I would never stay here again and strongly recommend avoiding this one!

The staff and cleanliness of the room were perfect, however we stayed during the heatwave and the air conditioning was set to 16.5 degrees but blowing out hot air, we came back to our room being 37.5 degrees.

We normally choose budget hotels because we don't spend much time in them, so we don't expect luxury. However, this was by far the worst hotel stay I've ever had. The room was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning and no window to open. Walking in felt like hitting a hot, humid wall. The air was so stifling it was difficult to breathe. The two fans provided simply moved the warm air around and offered no relief. We managed around four hours of broken sleep. The room was dated but clean, so cleanliness wasn't the issue. The heat made it impossible to relax or even get ready. We had to keep opening the room door just to cool down. The only way I can describe it is trying to get dressed in a sauna. Our clothes were sticking to us, and we took turns standing in the hallway for some relief. I know that sounds dramatic, but that's genuinely how bad it was. There were also strange maintenance issues, including no hand towel rail and a bedside lamp that didn't work. We spoke to another guest who had the same problem, and reception had offered them ice. Unless they planned to surround the bed with it, I don't see how that would have helped. This was the worst night's sleep I've ever had in a hotel, and I wouldn't stay here again.

No air con. How can this hotel expect guests to be happy in rooms that have no air con. Was over 30 degrees outside and the hotel rooms were like saunas. Not acceptable. Slept terrible. The fan in the room only circulated hot air around the room. Good location. Car park is 10 mins away. Owners need to spend money on this hotel. Clearly poor reviews don’t bother owners!

THERE IS NO AIR-CONDITIONING AT THE HOTEL. The window less rooms are not well ventilated. The staff when asked how hot the rooms are, tells you it depends on how hot it is outside. If that was wind up 20/10 no notes. If that was not get better staff.

We picked an expensive weekend to stay in Manchester. Paying over £100 for a room without a window and no air conditioning was not ideal. The room was clean, but very unconfutable to sleep. Staff confirmed the normal rate for this room would have been £45. Great location, easy to access the centre of Manchester.
