This hotel was one of the best we’ve stayed in… the staff really to above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible nothing was too much.. shout out to Ali and excellent massage by Erica, breakfast was very good and the spa and pool really nice to spend an evening relaxing.. we will defo be back

Burnham beeches is a beautiful hotel in wonderful surroundings. Check-in can be completed digitally but if there are any issues with this or anything else, there doesn't seem to be enough members of staff to deal with the number of guests. As a result, when attempting to get help with something non-check in related, we were met but obviously busy and perhaps not the friendliest of staff members. Also, beware of the free bike offer. Although great, you are not told before arrival that you need to download an app. This is tricky with phone reception poor outside the hotel and wifi that doesn't quite reach where the bikes are stored. If you experience any problems over a weekend, there is no helpline support and staff are ill-equipped to resolve any problems. Also beware of £5 charge to use the gym and pool. This is not mentioned when booking.

Disappointing stay that didn't match the luxury marketing. Check-in was chaotic — no receptionist available (they were mid-argument at the desk), forced to use a lobby computer, and our room wasn't ready despite 3pm arrival. My wife's spa treatments were rescheduled without any notice, shifted nearly an hour earlier with no explanation beyond "that's how we operate." We were also told we'd have to pay extra to use the pool, which looked far more run-down than advertised.The "character room" we booked (room 216) was tiny and nothing like the photos — worn bathroom, mismatched towels, only one towel rail (over the bath), and just a small fan despite "air conditioning" being advertised online. Hot water was unreliable too.Dinner at Brasserie 1727 was underwhelming: pre-plated starters that arrived suspiciously fast, tiny portions, and lackluster prawns at £15. When we mentioned it, the waitress just shrugged and walked off.Breakfast was decent but chaotic, and by Sunday the coffee machine had broken mid-service with visibly frustrated guests and staff throughout the hotel. The duty manager, Iyad, handled complaints well and offered a partial discount, but the overall impression was a hotel marketed as four-star luxury while running on a skeleton staff.
The spa treatments themselves were genuinely excellent — special mention to Baljit for one of the best massages I've had but it wasn't enough to offset everything else. This felt more like a discount-deal property dressed up.

I think we were unfortunate with a room as there were a few cobwebs and spiders. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was average but we were placed in a function room as the main restaurant was full.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was great but the nest double rooms do not have AC so plan accordingly if you are traveling during hot days. The room we stayed in had ac but it was leaking so the floor was wet underneath.

We arrived at 4:00 p.m. and unfortunately our room was still not ready. The chap at the desk managed to move us after some time. The room was pleasant although the toilet didn't flush properly. The air conditioning was welcome however it was positioned right next to the bed which wasn't ideal! The outside space was nothing special nor was the pool. Food was good (breakfast really wasn't anything special, but the staff were attentive and worked hard). At dinner we were rushed off our table so that they could accommodate other guests - which was a shame and regrettable.

We stayed for two nights, and although I understand there was a heatwave, I was very disappointed to be placed in a second-floor room with no air conditioning. After we raised the issue, we were moved to a ground-floor room, as no air-conditioned rooms were available. This made me question why we weren't allocated a ground-floor room from the outset, particularly during such hot weather when it's well known that upper floors become much warmer.
I was also surprised to discover that, despite being marketed as a spa hotel, guests are charged an additional £5 per person to use the spa facilities. I've stayed at many spa hotels, and I've never encountered an extra charge for facilities that are a primary reason people choose to book in the first place.
Unfortunately, the spa itself was also underwhelming. The swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were all very small, and the facilities felt dated and poorly maintained. It was clear that areas such as the windows had not been cleaned for quite some time, with visible dust and dirt that detracted from the overall experience.
Overall, I felt the hotel offered very poor value for money. The facilities did not match my expectations of a spa hotel, and I left feeling that I would have had a more comfortable stay at a Travelodge for a fraction of the price.

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location
But it needs some TLC
It was a hot night, but there is no air conditioning in the rooms, so sleep was difficult
Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff were lovely
But the barman Saturday night and the check in staff seemed to find everything an effort

Le plus frustrant ? Voyager pour le travail et ne pas avoir de wifi dans sa chambre. J'ai séjourné plusieurs fois dans cet hôtel car mes collègues y vont historiquement mais à chaque fois la wifi ne passe pas dans ma chambre (j'ai toujours eu des chambres différentes). C'est un no go si vous avez besoin de la wifi pour travailler

This hotel has so much potential because at first glance it’s absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, a few things really let it down during our stay.
The pool area was quite grubby, with broken tiles in the hot tub and the pool itself looking dirty. When I mentioned it to staff, I was told they didn’t currently have anyone to clean the pool, which honestly showed as it looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time.
Our room itself was lovely and nicely presented, but we were disappointed by the shower and bath only having lukewarm water. Other guests in our party also experienced the same issue and complained about it too.
The bar area is really nice and decorated tastefully, which adds to the overall charm of the hotel. However, the ground floor toilets were also dirty, and across the two days we stayed I didn’t see any cleaners around at all.
It’s a shame because the hotel could be amazing with better upkeep and attention to cleanliness and maintenance

The rooms are very warm and those in the old wing are quite dated. The gym could do with more equipment and the spa area could do with a shower. The breakfast was hearty and the staff were great.

This hotel was one of the best we’ve stayed in… the staff really to above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible nothing was too much.. shout out to Ali and excellent massage by Erica, breakfast was very good and the spa and pool really nice to spend an evening relaxing.. we will defo be back
