We arrived at 4:00 p.m. and unfortunately our room was still not ready. The chap at the desk managed to move us after some time. The room was pleasant although the toilet didn't flush properly. The air conditioning was welcome however it was positioned right next to the bed which wasn't ideal! The outside space was nothing special nor was the pool. Food was good (breakfast really wasn't anything special, but the staff were attentive and worked hard). At dinner we were rushed off our table so that they could accommodate other guests - which was a shame and regrettable.

We stayed for two nights, and although I understand there was a heatwave, I was very disappointed to be placed in a second-floor room with no air conditioning. After we raised the issue, we were moved to a ground-floor room, as no air-conditioned rooms were available. This made me question why we weren't allocated a ground-floor room from the outset, particularly during such hot weather when it's well known that upper floors become much warmer. I was also surprised to discover that, despite being marketed as a spa hotel, guests are charged an additional £5 per person to use the spa facilities. I've stayed at many spa hotels, and I've never encountered an extra charge for facilities that are a primary reason people choose to book in the first place. Unfortunately, the spa itself was also underwhelming. The swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were all very small, and the facilities felt dated and poorly maintained. It was clear that areas such as the windows had not been cleaned for quite some time, with visible dust and dirt that detracted from the overall experience. Overall, I felt the hotel offered very poor value for money. The facilities did not match my expectations of a spa hotel, and I left feeling that I would have had a more comfortable stay at a Travelodge for a fraction of the price.

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location But it needs some TLC It was a hot night, but there is no air conditioning in the rooms, so sleep was difficult Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff were lovely But the barman Saturday night and the check in staff seemed to find everything an effort

Hotel feels tired. Carpets on stairs worn. Menu limited. Bedroom tiny and a bit basic. Staff trying to help but feels understaffed.

Nice staff! But the rooms need a lot of things to be fixed or replaced.

Le plus frustrant ? Voyager pour le travail et ne pas avoir de wifi dans sa chambre. J'ai séjourné plusieurs fois dans cet hôtel car mes collègues y vont historiquement mais à chaque fois la wifi ne passe pas dans ma chambre (j'ai toujours eu des chambres différentes). C'est un no go si vous avez besoin de la wifi pour travailler

This hotel has so much potential because at first glance it’s absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, a few things really let it down during our stay. The pool area was quite grubby, with broken tiles in the hot tub and the pool itself looking dirty. When I mentioned it to staff, I was told they didn’t currently have anyone to clean the pool, which honestly showed as it looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. Our room itself was lovely and nicely presented, but we were disappointed by the shower and bath only having lukewarm water. Other guests in our party also experienced the same issue and complained about it too. The bar area is really nice and decorated tastefully, which adds to the overall charm of the hotel. However, the ground floor toilets were also dirty, and across the two days we stayed I didn’t see any cleaners around at all. It’s a shame because the hotel could be amazing with better upkeep and attention to cleanliness and maintenance

The rooms are very warm and those in the old wing are quite dated. The gym could do with more equipment and the spa area could do with a shower. The breakfast was hearty and the staff were great.

This hotel was one of the best we’ve stayed in… the staff really to above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible nothing was too much.. shout out to Ali and excellent massage by Erica, breakfast was very good and the spa and pool really nice to spend an evening relaxing.. we will defo be back

Bedrooms were lovely and most of the staff couldn’t do more to help you. The gym is very basic , and was disappointed the pool was cold and lots of tiles need fixing. Breakfast choice and quality was good

The overall experience was very pleasant, the staff super friendly and helpful. Only disappointment was the tiny gym, which we were unable to use because one person was in there cycling! However the spa facilities made up for it, and the spa treatment was exceptional. Came away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Looking forward to our next visit, would highly recommend.

Perfect stay

Beautiful location.Breakfast was basic. Staff were very friendly! I was disappointed that you had to pay extra £5 to enter the spa. We weren’t allowed to use the gym without membership. It’s a hotel and spa so I did not expect extra charge. Also no bathrobes even to hire. Disappointing for the money and to only receive a basic service.
