Crown House is an east Oxford gem. Very reasonably priced rooms, maintained spotlessly, and managed by a kind, very hospitable, and attentive staff. Cowley Road location is ideal given local superabundance of genuine ethnic restaurants, multiple supermarkets, specialty stores, and Oxford's largest bike shop. Local buses run constantly on Cowley Road with easy, easy access to the city center. Crown House's Cowley Road location is also an easy walk to the Oxford Tube Bus stop on the near St. Clement's Street serving London's Victoria Station and the Airlines Bus also with a separate stop on the nearby St. Clement's Street (with very frequent, inexpensive direct coach service to Heathrow and Gatwick airports. So What's not to love here?? Do be advised that all rooms at Crown House occupy the second floor of the building up a steep flight of steps. There is no lift (elevator) so this property is not wheelchair accessible at all.

Crown House is a small property run by a superbly hospitable, attentive, and very welcoming staff. Cleanliness of the property is impeccable. Its location on the Cowley Road is ideal since that thoroughfare offers a huge array of tasty, affordable dining options (great Turkish, Chinese, Persian, and North African restaurants). Even better, Cowley Road is served by a great many buses going directly in to central Oxford. This makes city access and touring extra-easy. There are also numerous shops, a large, well-stocked Tesco supermarket, and small businesses quite close to the property. Room 4 there is especially large, quite comfortable, and faces Cowley Road itself through grand windows. Light sleepers should be aware that there is a large, very popular music venue directly across the street from Crown House. The musical performances here (3 to 4 times a week) are entirely inaudible within Crown House itself, but exiting crowds of young concert-goers can be quite loud, even raucous between the hours of midnight and 1:00 a.m. on concert nights. Otherwise, Crown House is a perfect, very reasonably priced Oxford stay in a real, diverse, and vibrant neighborhood. So go already!

Ideally situated for our purpose. Sufficiently back from main road made it quiet. Though opposite a pub this caused absolutely no noise or disturbance.
