Hayward’s at the Grasmere

Great location between Bath and Bristol. Room was quite small and a little tired but perfectly acceptable. Breakfast choice was excellent, we used the restaurant one evening, the food was really good. Parking is available but it’s not a big area and is used by guests and restaurant patrons so it does get busy.

Hotel is in a great location for Bath or Bristol. Never have any issues with our stay. The breakfast is lovely.

Do yourself a favour, and book another hotel You can get a lot better, for same money or less photos on line, deceiving Absolutely terrible .worst hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time. Bad points- no receptionist to great you Key in lock box, you’ve got to find your own way around hotel Very dirty in reception area, loads of mud on carpet & stairs, still was there next day Quite tatty, dated & Grubby Room tiny, hard to get past the bed to bathroom ,on right ride Very very basic ,don’t expect any frills Room very dirty , especially bathroom Hairs on floor , dirty walls & floor Cracked tiles, rusty radiator Grubby small shower cubicle , not even a shelf to put shower gel on husband hurt his neck, trying to shave, you have to manoeuvre your body & neck, to a funny position , to see in the mirror, what a funny place to put a mirror needs a whole revamp to be honest Long black Hairs on my pillow, and small hairs in bed Blood or red ink on bedding Only 1 towel, for two of us, not even any hand towel window blind, doesn’t fit window correctly, lets loads of light it ,down side, big gaps Lots of noise through night, early hours Doors banging Too hot to sleep , even though we turned the radiator off But you could not control radiator in bathroom, boiling all night Good points Although Breakfast was very basic , it was nice & cooked well Waiter very nice. Would have been nice though ,to be asked ,if we would like anything eles e.g fruit/yogurt/hot drinks

Had a wonderful stay here over the weekend of our wedding. The room was a wonderful size and while nice and clean it was a little tired in places. The staff however were so kind and helpful; going above and beyond time after time to make our stay special. The food in the restaurant was delicious, I would recommend booking a Sunday lunch if you the opportunity. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Very comfortable bed but pillows are not great. A lot of street noise as well. It is clean and the staff are fantastic. The breakfasts are also very good.

Handy situated between Bath and Bristol. Lovely young staff. Evening meal (tapas) was delicious. Good breakfast choice. Our room was a bit outdated and alot of dust on window sill! Sliding door for loo very noisy. Comfy beds though

Everything was as expected we have stayed here before. The staff are excellent as is the food the accommodation is clean tidy and of a good standard.

Sehr schönes Zimmer. Perfekt zum Übernachten mit Kindern. Die Schlüsselübergabe erfolgte telefonisch per Lockbox. Duschabfluss war verstopft, Wasser hat soch schnell gestaut. Wandlampe im Bad ohne Funktion. Während der Check-In-Zeit war leider kein Personal da, nur morgens im Frühstücksraum und das Zimmermädchen. Leider war niemand da, dem man das mit dem Abfluss und der Lampe hätte mitteilen können und Feedback anscheinend nicht gewünscht. Für mich leider zu wenig Service.

Lovely old fashioned hotel. Small bedroom and extremely warm due to the very sunny warm day. No AC but a small fan was provided. Self checkin. Would stay again. Good breakfast too. Great location

Great service bit the bed was very noisy which disturbed our sleep.

Friendly and willing staff from arrival to departure. Very comfortable bed, ample size room. Bathroom could do with some tlc particularly the corner of the bath which is covered with a sticky tape strip and the shower fitting which is fixed and sprays water to the back of the bath! Breakfast was very good, excellent scrambled eggs! Overall impression is that the restaurant is more important than the accommodation and the price at £121 is a bit expensive in my opinion!
