Holiday Inn Express CAMBRIDGE by IHG

The bed was far too small - I didn't get a decent night's sleep there due to that. There was a power socket on only one side of the bed - very inconvenient. The wi-fi was very good but very fiddly to connect to. We were charged to park there - this is just grasping. The single lift was glacially slow. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant apart from the woman on reception when we checked out - she was abrupt to the point of rudeness.

Breakfast was good although large dessert spoons for cereal was weird. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Rather thin walls in the room lead to some noise from neighbours.

Only ground floor room or one room with locked adjoining door with stranger left at 6pm when I checked in. The hotel knew that I was a female travelling on own and had many couples and families staying, yet no accommodation made for this. They also knew this wasn't ideal as they apologised. To be fair on the staff they offered free parking overnight as a result, however not ideal given reports in the media this week about single female staying in another hotel chain. Hairdryer in room did not work, staff not interested when I reported at checkout (good job I had also brought a small travel one, otherwise would have mean a soggy trip to reception!) Again, to be fair I have used this hotel before and not had any problems. Hotel clean, fairly priced, good breakfast.

Clean room, easy and hot breakfast. Sound from the next room was too audible.

Great location, very easy to get into town with a quick walk and then bus. The staff were really friendly and helpful, couldn’t do more. The only down side was the toilet in the room smelt, the smell you get in public toilets. The floors weren’t cleaned during our stay so maybe a few years of this has led to it.

Yes but the staff were not very customer friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable. When we checked out no questions asked how was your stay my husband asked where to leave the keys she said just there. Not acceptable we came all the way from London. It was suppose to be igh hotel. We would like a refund

The staff especially jack were amazeing couldnt do enough for us and our grandaughter the breakfust was besutiful

Excellent full English breakfast with great coffee and some fruit juices. Very cheerful and friendly staff. Booking in was easy and parking was £6 per day, paid inside reception. (Only rip-off with this hotel chain.)

Pets very welcome. Good selection of wines, ciders and lager. Unfortunately not one Ale served.

Good size rooms, clean and nice breakfast

Clean, fresh, comfortable but the bed was a bit hard for our liking. Good standard breakfast. No complaints. Easy and convenient for our trip to Cambridge. Good value for money for the area

GREAT BREAKFAST

The room was comfortable but there were a few stray hairs in the bathroom so that could have been cleaner and it didn’t seem like the carpet had been hoovered as it felt ‘bitty’ underfoot. The hot breakfast was nice but there weren’t many fruit or pastry options. The staff were friendly.

Stayed Feb 2026 - room 215. The hotel was in a perfect location for my upcoming meeting and the surrounding area was very quiet with no road noise, which made for a good night’s rest. Unfortunately, the restaurant experience was disappointing. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food, only for the order to arrive incorrectly. A further 20 minutes was needed for the replacement, which meant we did not start eating until after 9pm – far too late for an evening meal. I appreciate the hotel was fully booked; however, the service appeared disorganised, with only one person serving at the bar. The hotel would benefit from additional kitchen and front-of-house staff to help manage orders and improve service times.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and warm room. Car parking was a nightmare. Cars not fitting into spaces and several cars parked across bays.
