Hotel Indigo Durham, an IHG Hotel

Fantastic stay with amazing staff in a stunning historic hotel. Room was superb and location was second to none.

Me and wife stayed 1 night. Really nice hotel, good location and clean. A little bit of damage evident to ceiling in room but not an issue (old building). The most disappointing thing was at breakfast, a group of students who were staying literally put all of the remaining breakfast pastries (about 16-20) in their bag as they were leaving, meaning there was none left. This wasnt challenged by the hotel.

Superb property. Best breakfast room ever, which becomes a great restaurant at night. Great location in a one of the nicest towns in England.

Nice hotel. Avocado on toast for breakfast was disappointing...this was readymade guacamole, not smashed avocado as listed. Otherwise great.

Lovely greeting and free upgrade. Room was clean, spacious with nice free drinks in mini bar. Lovely local Ringtons tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits. Fab decor and tasty breakfast in the most beautiful breakfast room ever.

Lovely short stay. The bar staff were lovely. The reason for 4* rating is that the chamber staff didn’t do a thorough job of cleaning the room.

The Hotel Indigo is full of character and charm. It’s very conveniently located for Ciy centre activities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. One small improvement would be better lighting in the bedroom area, it’s quite dimly lit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay hotel is beautiful so close to cathedral shops bars, quiet warm and very pleasant we will be back reastraunt was amazing too food spectacular!

The room was very cold and only heated through a warm air duct which was incredibly noisy. We were woken up in the night with all the clanking so decided to turn it down and be cold rather than suffer the noise all night. After breakfast we returned to a room that had not been made up properly. Pillows still on chairs, my nightie scrumbled on the bed still strewn with the info guide. The water had not been replaced and the cups had not been cleaned. We had booked a meal at the restaurant which was not busy. After giving our order we waited 45/50 minutes for our steaks. When they arrived i noticed that the tomatoes advertised in the menu were not there. I queried the waiter who said he didn't think they were on the menu. When he returned he came with the tomatoes... The breakfast was standard fare, though my eggs benedict yolks were solid rather than runny. We normally go to the travelodge when we vist family in Durham but thought we would have a festive treat after a difficult year. It certainly was not the 4 star boutique hotel which we had expected.

Lovely clean hotel, very centrally located for city centre, cathedral, castle etc. Spacious rooms with modern bathrooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Great restaurant and bar

The hotel has kept the history of the building alive when converted. It is like you stepping back in time which fabulous.

Fabulous stay at hotel Indigo. We dined in the MPW restaurant which was lovely, very attentive staff and great food. The room was very spacious, beds comfy and the most amazing shower. Would definitely recommend

I was impressed. The hotel has character and the position and facilities are impressive. Nice bar. Didn’t sample the restaurant but it looked busy. I will return on my next trip to Durham.
