Lovely hotel and staff , clean and comfortable room , hot shower & lovely buffet breakfast and grounds outside too and a little out of town but very easy by little bus ride or an uber to get back into town

Door to bedroom was difficult to close, probably dropped on the hinges. Amazing grounds to walk the dog, well kept.

The hotel is set in well tended landscaped grounds -lovely for a short walk and taking our dog out. Breakfast and other meals were good. The room was comfortable and clean. Note -it was not evident in information provided at time of booking, but all rooms except two have a shower over bath, rather than a cubicle shower.

Nice hotel and everything was just as it says

We stayed here a few times now and always been great. Staff are always nice and willing to help. Little thing was main meal wasn't good but can't knock our stay, can't be perfect all the time. I would recommend it to stay here

On arrival the staff were very helpful however when after being given our room we were appalled at the condition, especially the bathroom. The furniture was old and dated, the mattress and pillows hard, but it was the bathroom that dismayed us the most. There was black mold on the ceiling and extractor fan, the floor was uneven due to the lino was separating from the wooden floor. The taps on the sink needed replacing and the shower controls didn't work. To sum up the bathroom wanted gutting. After complaining and requesting another room we were told the hotel was fully booked but would be moved in the morning. The duty manager was very apologetic and we were offered a complimentary evening meal and drinks which didn't really compensate for the situation. The next morning we were moved to another room, a little better but not great. Wouldn't stay again or recommend.

Older hotel, so rooms are not modern, but are clean and comfortable. Staff went above and beyond to be helpful, so that was the best part of the stay. Nice common area and restaurant.

Meals were delicious. Staff was wonderful. Rooms were fine but bathrooms need an upgade.

Overall our stay was very pleasant. The entrance and reception through to the bar area looked refreshed and inviting. However, once up the stairs all the floorboards creaked in the corridor and rooms, really reflecting the age of the premises. Our bathroom looked like some maintenance had been carried out but the standard of finish was below par. However, this could be due to pending refurbishment but not reflective of a longer term solution. The breakfast arrangements on the morning of our departure seemed a bit chaotic, maybe because many guests all arrived in the same 30 minute window, putting pressure on the staff. Nevertheless, we found all the staff very friendly and helpful during our stay.

Excellent for parking and a wide choice for breakfast, however the evening meal menu was limited but the portions were good.

Wonderful breakfast, only issue was extremely busy one morning & staff had no idea how to manage it. Staff told us to wait in lounge area but no room numbers taken so staff had no clue as to who was first in the queue etc & led to some people waiting a very long time while others went straight through! Room was very clean but shower screen didn’t fit properly & led to water leaking on floor. Had to jam a towel in it. Room could do with updating.

Breakfast was, although would prefer to be served free tea & coffee, rather than having to queue at a machine forva very average drink. Room was comfortable & spacious, despite the decor being a little worn especially in the bathroom. Parking was good. All the staff we had contact were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Property a little tired but staff very pleasant and traditional British breakfast was very very good but other tastes catered for fully as well.

Standard of Housekeeping cleanliness in bathrooms well below par. Handling of complaints abysmal. Your duty manager appears to believe that because the rooms are ‘old’ customers should accept mould, scaling & improperly cleaned toilet. They did change rooms, 2nd room frankly not much improved with similar issues plus someone else’s hair on the shower wall. I asked the receptionist for compensation, refund of 1st night should have been offered as they couldn’t move my room - or clean it to an acceptable standard, and a 2nd free night as compensation for that & for the room key not working. She told me that they can’t do refunds as I booked online. She did offer me a free breakfast, which I didn’t want & which was not anppropriate compensation for the state of the bathroom. I asked her to refer my complaint to Hotel Manager. They did not acknowledge or do anything about it. Whether she couldn’t be bothered to flag my complaint or the Manager couldn’t be bothered to address it I don’t know. Neither is acceptable. Appalling service. Asked for compensation

A very nice hotel. Lovely clean and warm room. A good supply of towels and hot water. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was amazing.....such a wonderful choice. Will definitely stay there again.
