New Bath Hotel and Spa

Really enjoyed our stay. Thankyou.

We stayed two nights on family business. The staff was very quick and efficient in finding us a room to make us comfortable. The service in the restaurant was quick and beautifully presented. We have stayed there before, and was happy on each occasion.

Unfortunately our stay was ruined by the dangerous electric cables and the extension lead being taped, the cables for to bedside lights were blocked together and then hidden down the side of our head board, really shocking and a fire hazard, the room was very cold and dated and the breakfast was awful. Such a shame as the fresh water Pool and area is lovely, please check the entire electrics if you stay here in your room very dangerous, reported to hotels.com and to the hotel management, they moved us to a room next door but hotel did not offer compensation, hotels.com gave us a £50 voucher towards next stay but very disappointed please see pictures below,

Didn’t know what to expect, as some reviews are a bit harsh. We were greeted on News Years Eve by a friendly young lady who gave us instructions to our room - which was in a separate building (but up different stairs if going through the hotel). Ideal accessible room round the back - you can drive the car and park outside the room more or less. Room over looked the pool area. Room itself was plenty big enough for 3 adults. V clean, super ‘Dove’ body wash/shampoo/conditioner and body cream. Fluffy white towels and tea/coffee facilities. Room was warm and cosy with a little balcony. Didn’t use restaurant, but was very busy when we walked back from town area, which is about 10mins away down hill going and uphill coming back! Staff are friendly, and looks like it’s going through a refurb, we wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Thank you! Friendly gent on reception on New Year’s Day! Keep up the good work and hopefully it will keep getting better and better! Outdoor Pool was well used by a club.

We are in our 70s and had to negotiate 3 flights of steps (no lift ) It was quiet when we arrived but it was not suggested someone could take our bags for us , which would have been appropriate . The room was recently refurbished with a modern en-suite , tea and coffee making facilities a tv that worked and ample storage for our one night stay and warm. There was inadequate staff levels . We were very cold in the bar and dining room , commented by others , but no apology or suggestion ie sit by the radiator , away from window , we see what can be done etc .The rooms were badly insulated . We were unable to contact night staff to complain and deal with guests close by who were extremely noisy returning to their room very late at night and continued steaming shouting and being abusive to one another for what seemed like hours into the early hours of the morning

We stayed for 2 nights in December and found the hotel met our needs perfectly. All staff were friendly and helpful and food in the restaurant and at breakfast was fantastic. We hope to stay again in the future.

we had the best anniversary at this hotel ! the staff were amazing ! especially georgia at reception who was just 10/10!! thankyou to everyone at the new bath hotel for being so amazing!

Needs some redecorate external buildings. Signs of mould in bathroom. Hotel does not have an alcohol licence. No spa facilities. No external lights in car park outside annexe building. Breakfast £15 per person too expensive.

Good location, however needs an overhaul, greasy hand prints on wall (room 66) bathroom sink very very very slow draining (10mins). Previous occupants and cleaner would have known this but nothing done to correct.Sink Hot & Cold plumbed incorrectly H was cold, C was Hot) Shower was good, bedding was clean, beds comfy.

As ever i had a lovely stay The downside is that there is no public lounge bar so you either have to drink in your room or go out

I was here on a business trip with 4 other colleagues and all of us had some sort of issue with our rooms. Most of us noted that the rooms were not well kept, with the beds, furniture, carpets, etc. all quite worn out. One colleague had issues with the water, and only cold water came out of the sink. All bathrooms had dirty/moldy tiling and grout. One room had mold on the wooden part of the windows. The knob on the heater in my room broke off. It's quite a shame because I stayed at this hotel back in 2018/2019 and I remember it being very nice and in way better condition. The hotel has a lot of potential, just needs some TLC. Two positives is that it's within walking distance of several restaurants and pubs. The Wi-Fi was also very reliable.

In meinem Zimmer war ein neues Bad, aber der Rest des Hotel war doch sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Was an sich nicht schlimm ist, wenn es dann sauber und gepflegt ist. In meinem Flur roch es sehr unangenehm. Das Frühstück war ok aber nicht jetzt keine tolle Qualität oder besonders lecker. Eine Kollegin hatte ein altes Bad und Schimmel in diesem. Auf die freundliche Frage, ob sie ein anderes bekommen könnte wurde recht unfreundlich geantwortet, dass es nicht möglich ist. Sehr schade, da das Haus an sich wirklich schön ist.

Ideal area to explore many walks and attractions. Outdoor pool and changing area needs updating cleaning . I believe just taken over so staff not up to speed on what facilities are available within the hotel . Rooms need upgrade as electric sockets loose in our room and no nets up at windows so no privacy. Food very good

The property itself is pretty tired. We had mould on the bathroom ceiling, and external door that wouldn’t lock (was reported and fixed), blocked sink drainage, mouldy milk in the tea and coffee caddy in the room. In general the place is looking a bit tired. The staff were great and friendly. Breakfast was good with a good choice but the hotel really does feel like it could do with a revamp. Maybe the main hotel building is better but we were in an adjoining building. Location to Matlock bath is excellent couldn’t fault that.

As ever i had a fantastic break the only downside was that there was no bar due to change over of management they hadn’t got a licence sorted but they was in the process of getting one

I booked this hotel and on the website the photos of the hotel and rooms looked amazing , reviews were fair . We turned up to be told our room was not actually in the hotel but in an outbuilding to the rear of the main building. The room was dreadful, ripped wallpaper, cold , noisy with a child next door, unwelcoming I was grateful I had only booked one night . It was definitely not as advertised or expected and wasn’t cheap! I thought paying more we would have a decent hotel and room. Also I ticked pay at hotel on the website when I booked it as my friend was paying . Only to find they took payment in the morning from my bank throwing my bank overdrawn and causing me charges even though it said no payment would be taken from the card!

Lovely clean and comfortable Hotel in a beautiful quiet location. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Very friendly and welcoming lady on reception Would definitely stay again. We stayed in the annexe with a pool view and a balcony .Would stay again in the warmer weather and enjoy that outdoor pool 😊
