Unfortunately, on this occasion, the Radisson Blu Liverpool fell well below the standards I have come to expect from the Radisson Blu brand. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment during our stay, with the bar closed and painters and decorators working throughout the building. Had I been made aware of this in advance, I would have considered staying elsewhere. The biggest issue, however, was the air conditioning. It was clearly not functioning correctly, with hot air being blown into each of the rooms. I was staying with my family to celebrate my son's graduation and had booked three rooms. The temperature in every room was over 26°C, making it extremely uncomfortable, particularly at night. The staff did their best to help and were always polite, but each time we spoke to reception we dealt with a different member of staff. We were repeatedly promised that alternative rooms would be made available, only to be told later that the hotel was full. Unfortunately, this happened several times and left us feeling that the issue was not being managed effectively. Nothing was done to resolve the situation until our final night, by which point the majority of our stay had already been affected. It was particularly disappointing given that we were in Liverpool for such a special family occasion. Overall, the poor communication, the lack of a working air conditioning system, and the disruption caused by the refurbishment made this a very disappointing experience.

Very reluctant to leave a bad review. I’ve said in countless hotels in Liverpool over the years. The experience of staying at the Radisson yesterday made me sad, rather than angry. We had checked earlier that day if an early check-in would be possible. I was advised to arrive earlier and this might be accommodated. Alas, not only was it not accommodated we were told, very rudely, that the room wasn’t ready and to come back at 3. When we did, check-in felt more like we were migrants registering for deportation. Your staff might want to have a little bit of training in civility. A drop of kindness, perhaps a smile. I’m a nice person and pretty easy to get on with. Not only that, but those in front of us did get to check-in early. The explanation given for this was incoherent. I won’t bore you with the rest, but the room was hotter than the sun, regardless of what we did to the AC. Fans had been left outside but were wholly ineffective. The shower head came off mid-shower. We decided to come down to breakfast but were greeted by a member of staff that seemed perturbed that we should want to eat some food, so we went to Moose. Listen, I’m sorry if this gets anyone in trouble, but it was a bit of a rubbish experience and (almost) spoilt an otherwise lovely trip. Just try a smidhen harder, I’d say - and don’t try and charge £17.95 for a breakfast!

Aircon broken, no replacement room offered, minimum temperature was 24.5C - couldn’t get cold water out of the shower to cool down, shower head wouldn’t point at you without being held. Offered a fan but it was the loudest device created by man and the base was half missing meaning it couldn’t stand up on its own. Reception was a mess with building work going on. Shampoo wasn’t restocked in the 4 days despite asking for it. Phone to reception not answered 2 out of 3 times. Just very poor all round - disappointing for the brand, and it was very expensive compared to the Indigo around the corner.

Det vsr en stor skuffelse at bo på Raddison blue - der var ikke varmt vand de sidste to dage og morgenbuffeten var dårlig og bar præg af ligegyldig tilgang til det hele - manglende køl af madvarer og for lift af det meste - har mange gange bort på hotellet og kan sige at standarden er skredet - slidte møbler i morgenmadstrestauranten og intet køleskab på værelset

Room was a great size but there was only one thin pillow each. No spares in the cupboard. The air conditioning didn’t work despite trying to reset it and looking up instructions. The room was 27 degrees overnight and the window doesn’t open! They could do with fans in the room as a stand by. It would be better if there was a plus socket nearer the bed as I need a machine overnight for breathing and there was nowhere to plug it in (although there are phone charger sockets) There was no fridge, which would have been useful due to the temperature and the bottled water going warm. After flushing the loo, when the tank finished refilling there was an almighty bang each time. I didn’t bother mentioning any of this upon checking out, because the lad on reception barely looked up a us, and didn’t ask if everything had been ok with the stay. He simply mumbled that we were checked out. And that was that! The receptionist the night before on check in was lovely though and she gave all the info about the amenities etc. price of the room was fair. Nice and clean and it’s close to everything you need in town.

Great hotel! Having stayed at most hotels in Liverpool I was mega impressed at how quiet this hotel is, how good the staff are and how nice the breakfast is. Defo recommend

We booked a room with twin beds and arrived at 2pm. We were told we were too early and had to wait for 3pm along with about 30 other people who were milling about by reception. We were told our room had a double bed but they would sort it. At 3pm, all 30 people rushed forward to the desk to be delayed by just 2 staff, it was a shambles. Went to the room and lo and behold it was still a doing bed. So down I went to again ask for it to be dealt with and was told that while we were out they would sort it. On our return at 1am we found the bed was still a double bed so down I went yet again to demand it gets sorted. To say I was met with arrogance from the staff was an understatement. It was as if I was being awkward. Finally a staff member came upstairs and altered the bed before tossing sheets into the bed and leaving in a huff. I couldnt wait to leave in the morning so didnt stay for breakfast. This is the third time we have been met with arrogant, disinterested Radisson staff, and it's safe to say we won't encounter them ever again.

Check in was a joke. Queue out of the door and rooms not ready, one reception desk on trying to cope (not very well). Air con in room not working which seemed to be a common theme. No way to complain about this due to the front desk chaos.

Now rooms are refurbished they are much better. The White Bar is currently being refurbished and I look forward to seeing that when it done. What makes the hotel great is the staff.
