Sandman Signature Newcastle Hotel

Clean & Tidy room as ever. Stadium view but smaller than rear facing, but still well appointed with a modern clean bathroom. Sports bar was rammed as the England v Panama game was on. Took my Scotland top off out of respect. Food was decent and as expected for a sports bar. Staff always friendly & helpful too. Always a go-to hotel for me in Newcastle.

Very good experience. Check in was straight forward and quick. Stayed in a Junior Suite which absolutely loved. No complaints at all. We will be back again.

Drench shower was dirty and lots of the holes were blocked so not much water coming out. Shower head holder was broken so had to crouch down to have a proper shower. Spoke to reception to resolve it but it never got resolved and no message to say why not. Also emailed them to give them a chance to reply but still nothing from them.

I booked an executive suite which has a separate seating area and kitchen. The room is not well laid out and feels smaller than it should. My biggest problem with this hotel though, is the lack of care for their customers over money. I arrived about 55 minutes before the usual 15:00 check-in time and usually if a room is cleaned and available hotels will let their guest check-in. I was told that the room was cleaned and available but if I wanted to check in early, this would cost £15. I mentioned to the person checking me in that I thought this was appalling behaviour, and she just laughed and said, yes, but it’s the only one ready. I pointed out that this confirms that it’s ready and whether or not it’s the only one is entirely beside the point! This is nothing more than a money-grab by the hotel. It makes no difference to them whether I’m in my room a little before the official check-in time; it doesn’t cost them any extra to have me sitting upstairs versus in reception, save maybe a few pence if I turn on the TV. Additionally, they make a point of saying that bottled water is available in reception for £1 per bottle, but the tap water is drinkable. I’m fine with drinking tap water but they haven’t even left a glass bottle or jug that could be cooled in the fridge and there were only very small wine glasses in the room. Not a very ‘executive suite’ experience at all. I won’t be staying again.

Absolutely loved my stay, we stayed for 4 days, convention weekend and as a first stay the staff were absolutely brilliant, no complaints . they helped care for fragile items and always helpful with the room and needs. Especially Lauren and the Gent who helped us on our first night of stay (unfortunately we did not get his name) Above and beyond would love to stay here again even for a normal holiday thankyou!

There was no air conditioning in this summer heat! A ventilator was available in the room, which was far from bed. It was impossible to sleep. The open window was just adding more of the street noise into the room.

Every single member of staff we encouraged have been 10/10! When we first checked in there were issues with our shower and despite it being late at night they switched our rooms for us. The shower there was great, bed so comfy, spacious, plenty hangers and the fridge was very helpful. As much as I love staying at the sandman for SunnyCon we may need to consider other options due to the lack of air con as the warmth of the room caused me to be sickly at times, the fan helps a bit but I think air con would be a good investment for summer months.

Nice hotel with amazing personnel. A little loud at night if you have a room infront St James Park.

The Sandman is an excellent hotel & is my go to when staying in Newcaastle. Excellent friendly staff & right in the middle of Newcastle City Centre

Was een kort verblijf , maar prima overal dichtbij . Stadion centrum en genoeg barretjes en restaurants in de buurt . Een goed verblijf

Right from check in the hotel was perfect. Right in the centre of Newcastle. Staff extremely helpful. Perfect view

Very nice room and was modern and very clean. The breakfast was also good.

Very handy for the stadium and student parents staying over. Only stayed one night for a nearby wedding so didn't really use any of the facilities. We moved rooms as club across the road is so noisy, it can be heard in the front rooms. Second room was a big upgrade and very quiet. Staff were very helpful in this respect. Avoided breakfast at £19.00 each and walked to the Greggs instead. Parked at the Temple car park which was very reasonable but not ideal if you are unable to walk too far or have lots of bags.

Bel hôtel idéalement situé, à côté de stade St James Park de l'équipe de football, 5min à peine du quartier chinois et autres restaurants en plus de celui de l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner complet, régulièrement réapprovisionné. Niveau sonore, tout dépend du côté donnant la chambre. Côté rue cela reste assez bruyant en fonction de l'animation surtout en soir de match. De l'autre côté, résidence universitaire et zone piétonne donc bien plus calme. Pas de parking sur place. Personnel très accueillant et disponible.

Rooms need soundproofing. The Stack is very loud, don’t expect to get any sleep before it closes.
