Sturdy's Castle Country Inn

Easy to find and comfortable place to stay. Check-in was efficient, and we planned to change before having dinner - but we ended up staying in the bar and eating there. The meal was very good and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Some of the same staff served breakfast the next day and it too was very good. The place was obviously well liked by the locals as it was pretty full most of the time we were there. (It turns out this is owned by the same people as The Falcon at Hatton so no surprise that the food was good)

Room was clean, very basic, decor was very bland, TV was infuriating to work, bed was ok, pillows were soft bordering on non existent, very good shower

Beautiful place, very clean and well maintained, bathroom a little dated but room was lovely! Had a curry for evening meal which was exceptionally good and very reasonable price wise. Breakfast was also lovely. Would definitely go back.

Staff was really nice, rooms were serviceable, bathroom needs a bit of care but clean. Easy to find not far from Oxford if you have a car. Beautiful courtyard behind hotel.

Good location, good size, comfortable room, restaurant had a good selection of food, I chose Indian which was a good choice, good breakfast as well

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfy eoom. Wverything you needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent. We had Salmon/scrambled egg and eggs benedict. Great for visiting Blenheim Palace (7 miles away)

Room wasnt the cleanest lots of stains and old sweets and food on the floor.checked in at 18.30 and was told the kitchen was closed so if you are planning to eat durring your stay you will have to drive to the next town

No lounge facilities for people staying over. The pub side was more of a restaurant. Could do with a snug area.

Room was comfortable. It had the amenities you would expect to find tea,coffee & toiletries. Only 1 pillow each, no others in the room. I did t ask for any others so unsure if they were available or not. Room was outside, similar to motel setting in USA. As it was raining heavily the wooden stairs and platform was quite slippery( there were signs warning of this). We arrived earlier than check in time so knew we would have to wait. Even at 3pm they had to ask the housekeepers if the room was ready and it wasn’t quite so had to wait additionally.There was a nice bar area and we had a very nice lunch. Quite an extensive menu and reasonably priced. It did get busy both at lunch and dinner. There is a separate restaurant area where the breakfast is served also. Breakfast has to be pre ordered and you have to pick what you want at the time of ordering. I prefer to decide on the morning. I assume this is to cut down on waste? The lady serving breakfast was not overly welcoming and everything seemed too much trouble, not just for us but for other guests too. I have to say the younger staff serving in the bar/restaurant in the evening were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful country pub with great accommodation and wonderful food (English & Indian menu) . Service was efirst class and very friendly too.

An average hotel with nice clean rooms in a convenient location at the edge of the Cotswolds although it would be almost impossible to get there without a car. £100 a night with breakfast is I suppose average today but quite expensive for this "average" hotel. We have no real complaints as such but the heating in the rooms needs to be on when you arrive if the weather is cold and the tiny shower gel/shampoo bottles are silly. Fresh bread rather than standard supermarket sliced would be nice at breakfast. All staff are friendly and efficient.

A brilliant breakfast was provided with lots of options and a choice of times. It was also a nice relaxed & friendly service. They rooms were a good size, a little bit tired but keep very clean. Water, teas, coffee & biscuits were provided. We appreciated the friendliness & patience of all of the staff. We ate in the bar one evening and then curries were delicious! All in all a great place to stay that perfectly met our needs.
