My stay was excellent. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless and well stocked with tea coffee chocolate. It’s the best nights sleep I’ve had in a while. The restaurant serves excellent meals . I will definitely be staying here again in the near future.

Large welcoming room, all the facilities required for a comfortable stay. On site parking a bonus.
Disappointing to be told initially that there was not a table available for us as guests in the hotel restaurant for an evening meal, at no point from booking to arrival were we advised we needed to book, in the end the staff accommodated us although we were sat near to a very draughty door. On a positive the food was good and the waitress’s friendly.

1 night stop over to visit family, great price for a really nice room with a comfortable bar area. Restaurant was very busy and food looked very nice. We met family out for food so didn't try the restaurant but will definitely give it a go next time.

I travel a lot for work and don’t normally like chain hotels but this one is an exception to the rule. Decorated beautifully and in keeping with the building. Very cosy, clean and comfortable rooms with lovely natural toiletries (which are also available to purchase). The DAB radio was a really nice touch as I don’t really watch TV. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The food was exceptional! Very high quality and made with fresh local produce. Breakfast was also amazing and the coffee was delicious and fresh. The staff were very welcoming, chatty and helpful. I really cannot fault this hotel. The only slight inconvenience was trying to find the parking as it wasn’t sign posted very well.

Nice hotel with free parking which is always a bonus. We enjoyed the hot drink facilities provided in the room.
The reason for the 4 stars is due to the noise of the very squeaky floorboards above us which woke us up early in the morning - it was so consistent that we couldn’t get back to sleep which is a real shame as it put a bit of a dampener on our stay.
Would potentially stay again if visiting the area.

An old traditional coaching inn with quirky rooms and beams. Excellent breakfast with great service by the serving staff.
We booked 3 rooms for 3 couples. All the rooms were different. One large room on the ground floor had everything you would need. Large bed, space around the room. Good sized bathroom with shelving to put your toileteries on and room for 2 people. The other 2 rooms, one of which was the broom cupboard, had no space at all. Everything was squashed in. The other room was on the high street front, very noisey from outside & inside. Any movement by other guests in rooms above and below created noise in this room. Very small bathroom. No where to put wash bags which ended up on the floor. Overall, a pleasant 1 night stay, excellent breakfast, but if staying longer would ask to change rooms.

The whole experience was excellent. Reception was warm and friendly, the lady couldn't have been more helpful and cheerful, and this led to a wonderful stay, we would love to return and recommend this hotel to everyone who would like a very comfortable night in a spotlessly clean room which offered every possible guarantee of a quiet, safe and happy stay
