The room was spotless and staff friendly and the food was really good

We stayed here a few years ago, and liked it, but didn’t this time. Originally booked into a suite, which felt more like a 2 room office, and wasn’t that clean, we moved when the wifi didn’t work. Had to move to a standard room, which was cosier and had functioning wifi, but again had tea stains down the wall, large accumulations of dust in the corners, and a shower door that was loose and so didn’t close/slide properly. It didn’t feel as though the hotel was being looked after actively.

Helpful receptionist showed me straight to my room as he knew I was in a rush as taxi waiting. Fastest check-in ever!

The room was clean but the water for the shower and the bath was freezing and was unable to give the kids a bath. Even running just the hot tap in the bath, only just achieved 31oC which is below body temperature. The sofa bed had a broken slat upon arrival and was very uncomfortable.

The overall place is clean and well maintained however the ensuite in room 14 particular the shower cubical was not clean and had mildew, the rest of the stay was good

Stayed two nights for a local family wedding. Beautifully situated, light, airy rooms, with comfy beds.

Only a drench shower, no good for females that don’t want to get their hair wet.

We stayed for one night in a Suite, for a wedding nearby. It is in a nice peaceful area with the security barrier giving peace of mind. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel and room were clean We opted to pay for an English Breakfast - this was advertised everywhere as £10.95 each, but when he put it through the till it was £11.95 each. The signage material needs changing for this. The breakfast was quite nice but the mushrooms were overcooked. We enjoyed yhe rest of the breakfast. For a 4* hotel, I think the following would be good additions as standard - Feather pillows would be nice to have as an option - I brought my own for a good nights sleep. A better selection of toiletries to include body lotion and shower cap, in addition to the shampoo and shower gel. Invest in the large containers rather than the small individual ones to be more eco friendly. Bottles of water in the fridge would be a nice addition. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Avenue Hotel, and would stay again.

Plenty of space to park, The hotel is nicely decorated clean and modern. The room was quite spacious with twin beds ample wardrobe and drawer space. Tea coffee kettle in the room. Tv. The bathroom was a good size with shower cubical sink and loo. Complimentary soaps shampoos and shower gels. Free wifi for guests.. We ordered food before going out for the evening. The food was nice and fairly priced as were the drinks from the bar. The beds were comfortable , 2 pillows on each bed. The continental breakfast which was included was bice. Toast with assorted jamd and bitter, ham salami cheese,, strawberry and chocolate croissant 4 different breakfast cereal and a selection of fruit juice. We used a local taxi firm after been mugged off by 2 uber drivers both cancelled our fare. In all we had a lovely stay and will definitely return in the future.

Big room and helpful staff. Bed a little uncomfortable but otherwise all good.

A comfortable, well equipped room, with a great shower. The evening restaurant menu gave good choices - but my freshly made pizza was excellent!

superb hotel and managed brilliantly. staff were amazing and the food was superb. cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff. no surprise they on the 4 in a bed award 👍👍
