Great location, room had a lovely view and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Nice comfortable bed, great breakfast. Maybe could do with a lick of paint but would definitely stay here again.

Booked a room with a bath but didn’t get that I got a room with a small bathroom, the shower was tiny with mould in parts. The room was okay but very dated and needs a complete renovation as does the whole hotel. It was quite expensive and the reviews I had read were good so I was really disappointed. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we just wanted to leave.

Perfect location. Traditional hotel. Breakfast included and cooked to order. Restaurant on site with good choice. Five minutes from train station. Have stayed previously and would return. Stayed in Room 6 - fab view.

Breakfast was excellent and a really nice view from the room where it was (overlooked the harbour)

We had a great stay at the Dolphin, i am already looking forward to going back. Great hotel and nice staff, very nice breakfast too.

Upon checking in, the room registered 32c degrees on my phone with no air con or fan. Security wise, the bathroom window was held open by a chock of wood, ground floor. Pretty unacceptable heat wise and security wise. I was not able to use the room and booked into another hotel nearby.

Great budget room, clean and comfortable and ideal for exploring Whitby - right on the quayside. Nice touches in room and a great breakfast provided.

The hotel was in a great part of Edinburgh making it easy to walk places. We loved how the building fit in with old Edinburgh. The breakfast was delicious. Being able to store our luggage between checkout and when we caught the train gave us an extra half day in town. We definitely recommend to anyone planning a stay in beautiful Edinburgh, Scotland.

Great location. Room was very nice size and up to date. Only negative is the parking is at the nearest public parking lot - if you can get a spot. But overall a good night at a great location.

Great location,spacious room with super views,helpful staff and best hotel breakfast my husband has had. Only fault- didn't like having no milk or bottled water in the room. However we would certainly visit the Dolphin again.

The most welcoming place we’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we walked through the door to leaving we were made welcome. The room was beautiful, it was clean and warm and the views were amazing. Owen behind the bar was the loveliest person. He gave us lots of information where to go for the next day. Thank you Owen you really did make our stay fab. A place we will definitely be visiting again.

Fantastic location with an excellent breakfast. Would have loved to stay longer. While it is above a pub, didn't hear a peep.

Best location in Whitby great staff and value for money

First the good. Great location (probably the best in Whitby.) Friendly staff, clean large bedroom, good breakfast, comfy bed with nice bedding. Great Quirky old building. Unfortunately, the bad.. when we arrived the whole building had the overwhelming smell of cooking oil. Even into the bedroom. I am pleased to state that the aroma eventually dispersed by morning. I believe that the management should address this issue urgently. Otherwise everything very good.

Fantastic place. Amazing location, very clean, an amazing breakfast and wonderful service from start to finish.
