I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Novotel. I arrived from Munich airport so the travel by train to the hotel was super easy (35 minutes on the S8 train). The hotel's location was excellent and within a short walk to the old town and easy access to walking trails along the river. There are many great spots to eat nearby as well. I did not rent a car and walked everywhere. The hotel itself was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and very helpful as it was my first time in Munich and I was a solo traveller. Breakfast every morning was wonderful with so many great hot and cold options for everyone. The gym and pool were also a great amenity to start the day or wind down after a full day of sightseeing. Overall I do not have anything negative to say. I would stay there again!

Vi havde et dejligt ophold på hotellet. Værelset var rent og pænt. Det var dog lidt upraktisk med toilet (uden håndvask) et sted og selve badeværelse med håndvask, bruser og kar et andet, men alt i alt et supert værelse. Personalet var venlig og imødekommende og morgenmaden havde alt, hvad hjertet kunne begære.

Super Lage, sehr nettes Personal, Superior DZ war sehr gut ( evtl klein...). Sehr zu empfehlen, insbesondete fuer den Preis!

Clean room. Suite had lots of space to be with a baby. Cot provided. Parking was easy although expensive - but seems to be expensive everywhere in Munich! Toiletries provided and a robe! Playroom for kids available on ground floor. Gym small but very functional.

Das Frühstück war ausreichend und vielfältig. Die Kissen im Bett waren sehr hart und unbequem. Das Bad im Zimmer ist sehr klein. Da ne Dusche und eine Badewanne reinpacken muss nicht unbedingt sein. Hätte man anders planen können. Für ein 4 Sterne Hotel hat das gewisse etwas gefehlt.

Location was great for me. Walking distance through a short cut by the river banks to the nearest tram station or a 10min downhill walk from Rosenheimer Station. I truly enjoyed my morning walks at Maximiliansanlagen park. Lots of eating and grocery store access nearby. The hotel room was clean, comfortable bed and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only comment I can share is the weird layout of the room. Entrance to the room is a bit tight with the cupboards on one side and the bar on the other side. One has to wheel in one luggage at at time through the narrow passage. The toilet by the entrance is small and have no sink for washing hands after toilet activities. The bathroom is huge and opens to the bed with a separate bath tub and shower. This will be useful for some but for not me. There is a big honking heavy luggage bench at the middle of the room which is not very helpful and quite an eyesore. I sure enjoyed the gym, pool and the sauna. Very clean and not so busy after the kids curfew at 8pm Overall a great experience and will recommend and stay again when back in Munich.

Excellent location

A lovely hotel in an excellent location for sightseeing and access to the lovely river walks. The transport system is excellent and the station at Rosenheimer Platz is only a couple of minutes walk away. You can get here direct from the Airport/Flughafen on the S1 or S8 lines (S8 is a shorter journey through pretty countryside) The old centre of Munich is about a 20 minute walk, or 2 stops on the train to Marien-platz (any of the trains - direction Pasing). At Marien-platz you can get trains to Allianz Stadium (U6 - direction Garching) and Olympic Park (U3 - direction Moosach). There is also a sightseeing bus and plenty of buses and trams but it is beautiful to wander around the on foot. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a bath and a shower which suited us perfectly. Access to the separate toilet was a little tight, being right behind the door and opposite the closet, but that is the only negative. We enjoyed the use of the swimming pool, and the changing rooms and showers were excellent. We didn't use the sauna as it was 2 separate rooms, one male one female, and was a nude sauna with no bathing costumes allowed. The ambiance in the relaxation room could be improved with some background music or sounds and aromatherapy oils, but it was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and never overcrowded, and every member of staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. We would definitely use this hotel again if we return to the area.

Nothing but good things to say. It was our first trip with our baby (6months old) and we had plenty of room in the room even with the travel cot. The room was clean and no external noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even gave the baby a soft toy on arrival. Also great location - easy walk into the centre. Shame we didn't go until the last night but if you follow the path immediately opposite down there's a great Bavarian style restaurant/tavern called Wirtshaus in Der Au a short walk away. Actually turned out to have the best food out of all the beer houses we visited in Munich. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Munich.
