Imaret hotel is a gem. The hotel is actually a historical building with lots of history (take the free tour to learn all about it) The service and staff were absolutely excellent. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The dining was truly 5 star (and I did not realize that dinner was included in the booking as well as breakfast) Bookings are pricey even by 5 star standards but I don’t regret spending a little extra on this hotel My only complaint would be the air condition was not strong enough to cool the room adequately (Greece was experiencing an extreme heat wave during our stay, and the Dome room we were staying in let in more heat than a traditional hotel). Air condition worked but was not strong enough to cool the upper level of the room (where the bed was located)

Imaret is a beautifully appointed historic site in which every detail is attended to.

Un lieu exceptionnel et une expérience unique. Le personnel de l’Imaret est aux petits soins pour ses clients. Et les repas du soir sont dignes d’un 2* au Michelin ! Un séjour inoubliable.

Exquisite location but it is the exceptional quality of the staff, and maintenance which makes this place truly special. It is wonderful to see a team like this. Their manner, care and excellent service made it impossible not to stay an extra night. I have to mention Athanasia in particular: When you watch any great performer or artist, you realise they were born to do this and excel. The Imaret is Athanasia’s arena; driven by passion and effortless empathy, it is a joy to watch her look after guests; a star. The staff here go the extra mile by default and the hotel do not rely on the beauty of the building. There is so much of the world to see but this is one place I will have to return to. My thanks to all the staff for an amazing stay. Gavin

In Imaret fand ich ein einzigartiges Ambiente vor, von der Außenfassade über die Lobby bis zu den Räumen ist alles einzigartig. Die historische Architektur wurde bestens beibehalten und man merkt manchmal kaum, dass es ein Hotel ist. Der Aufenthalt in einem Historischen Objekt ist mir nicht neu, jedoch fühlt und spürt man bei Imaret jederzeit die prächtige Geschichte der Stadt und des Gebäudes. Sollte ich jemals wieder nach Kavala kommen ist dieses Hotel meine erste Adresse, wenn nicht sogar der Grund meines Besuches. Sehr empfehlenswert für Menschen die viel Wert auf Authentizität geben. Kontra: Baubedingt gibt es verständlicherweise keine Parkplätze aber auch keinen Valley Service, was bei der Innenstadt-Lage teilweise sehr problematisch sein kann. Im Zimmer gab es keinen Fernseher und keinen Bügeleisen-Set.

When one arrives at Imaret he/she should not look for a grand entrance; in fact one really needs to pay attention to the "Reception" sign and notice the door bell that upon ringing grants you entrance to the inner world of Imaret. Then you are shown to the first inner court where serenity governs the senses, the sound of swallows combined with the sound of running water and the view of the pool surrounded by citrus trees soothes your eye sight. And then there is the light and the warmth the envelops you telling you to let go of all the anxieties you brought with you through the entrance. All of a sudden you realise you are somewhere special. The building has a long and turbulent history. So make sure you book the free tour; Our guide, Ismene, was simply excellent. Then there is the room. The moment you enter you are greeted with classical music, candle lights and the smell of herbs. Everything is tasteful and observes the nature of the building as an old Islamic educational centre. The building is full of hidden court yards, each one with its own character and yet all conspiring to please the eyes and the calm the soul. Take your time to discover but also to enjoy all areas. It would be a terrible omission if I did not mention the hotel staff. Pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, offering a world class service and making the guest feel at home; as a member of the Imaret family.

Unbelievable hotel! Its a very unique experience to stay at this hotel—as if you’re transported back in time. This has raised my expectations for all other luxury hotels of this price range.

We had a great stay. The hotel is luxurious and understated and very interesting architecturally given its history - make sure you take the free guided tour. The staff are really great - helpful and welcoming. It’s a bit of an oasis of calm and somewhere where you can relax and unwind.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of old town Kavala. A historical site that has been converted into an up scale hotel. You can feel the the charm and history. Walking distance to beach, restaurants and shoos.

A personal touch from the staff working there made our holiday in Kavala even more beautiful than what we imagined. Ready to suggest where to go, what to see and visit.

Romantic trip to Kavala is only complete with a stay at Imaret. Without doubt, the most important hotel in Greece. Dome Rooms offer the best balance of comfort and economy.

Von der ersten Minute bis zur Abreise sehr freundliche und familiäre Atmosphäre. Das Personal war immer sehr zuvorkommend zur Stelle ohne aufdringlich zu erscheinen. Die Zimmer wurden täglich sehr liebevoll, sowohl in der Morgenstunde, als zur Abendzeit mit Teelichtern, frischen Kräutern, frischem Obst etc. hergerichtet. Das Hotel ist eine Oase der Ruhe, inmitten eines turbulenten Treibens außerhalb. In den Abendstunden wurde der gesamte Hotelbereich mit gefühlten 1000enden von Teelichtern beleuchtet, sodass man sich wie in einem Märchen aus vergangener Zeit fühlte. Wir möchten uns auf diesem Wege beim gesamten Hotelteam für 5 sehr schöne, erholsame Tage bedanken.

Four of us spent a couple of evenings, celebrating Orthodox Easter, at Kavala's Imaret. Service was exceptional. Food was exquisite. The actual hotel has a couple of hundred years worth of history and is just stunning. Definitely a must stay visit and stay place.

it was a very good experience. history and modernity were intertwined. The Ottoman culture was meticulously preserved. We seemed to be on a journey in history.

Nothing short of amazing. Travel back in time to the Ottoman Empire, but with every modern comfort. Flawless staff. Incredible food and wines. Not to be missed - if your budget allows.

I would love to go back again, could not fault a thing. Beautiful surroundings, staff and food, exactly what a boutique hotel should be.
