The Royal Hotel

Very clean and has everything. Close to bus. Very walkable as well. Great scenery nice staff very helpful. I found it relaxing.

Clean and tidy, lovely staff, very good value for money. No do not disturb sign for the doors and cleaning keycards override the guest locks (ask me how I know)!

We arrived to find we had only one bed even though we had requested two twins. The man at the desk was apologetic and polite and eventually arranged for a cot to be put in the room. The breakfast is really quite nice and the room itself was okay but a bit noisy with the runway close by and the fridge in the room squawked and squeaked.

We stayed here for a week and had a mixed experience. The location is excellent – only 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bus to Corfu Town, with plenty to do nearby such as swimming, visiting the small island by boat, and enjoying the views and church close to the hotel. Rooms felt modern, clean, and comfortable with good AC, though the ceiling fan was dirty and the “garden view” was really just a road. Cleaning service was very good, and check-out was smooth. The biggest downside was the parking situation. It’s unclear where guests should park, and when I called the hotel, one receptionist was rude and unhelpful – the only unfriendly staff we met all trip. Luckily, another receptionist was very kind and even moved her own car for us. Parking often filled up because tourists visiting the viewpoint would also use the hotel spaces. Breakfast was fine, mainly English style, and the pool was nice, though the pool area and games room felt run down. The bar was rarely open and it was oddly difficult to get something as simple as two wine glasses for the room. The WiFi was extremely slow and open (not secure), Despite these issues, the hotel’s location, views, and overall room quality make it a decent choice, but improvements in service, facilities, and parking management would make a big difference

Our stay was far from what we expected. The photos online did not match reality. While the reception looked fresh, the elevator was old and unreliable, room doors had broken handles, and our room smelled of mold. The floor on the room wasn’t clean.The bathroom was unhygienic, the shower head was moldy and old due for a NEW ONE, and the drainage flooded the floor. The air conditioning smelled bad, was noisy, and couldn’t be controlled. The pool area was poorly maintained – dirty pool, untrimmed grass, moldy sunbeds that smelled, and unclean glass barriers. The game room was dusty with a moldy odor, and even the public toilets had no locks and weren’t clean. The only positives were that breakfast was okay and the lifeguard was very kind and helpful. Overall, definitely not worth the money.

Staff were polite and attentive, done their best for the situational circumstances. Unfortunately the hotel itself was very run down which is what you don’t see in the pictures. Pool was dirty, singers were disgusting, couldn’t not use it because I felt so gross. The corridors are extremely run down and stink of sewage. The room itself was standard and it had a great view of the plane landing but noisy, the shower is small and often when trying to shower it stinks of sewage too. We had constant WiFi troubles, it would stop working, phones will not connect, the staff at the reception probably hear this complaint from a lot of guests. There are food places to eat outside the hotel, and there is a bus that takes you straight into old Corfu town for 2 euros located on the left hand side of the hotel, 1 minute walk. Overall wouldn’t come back again

I had expected a bit more from this hotel, and I was honestly a little disappointed. I chose it as a gift for my partner, hoping for a slightly higher standard, but the room didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The door and shower weren’t working properly, and the noise from the planes taking off right outside made it hard to relax. That said, the surrounding area is quite charming, with a small beach within walking distance and a lovely little church nearby. If you love planes and enjoy plane spotting, this is probably the perfect place. But unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit for us.

Unfortunate no operationing bar or food service in the hotel, not a bad breakfast though. Staff were very friendly.

Reception staff are amazing and very helpful. They upgraded my room on arrival when they learned that I like to watch the planes land at the airport. The room was comfortable although looking tired in places. Thankfully the A/C worked really well in the heat keeping the room nice and cool.
