We booked 4 nights accommodation for 2 pax for my first Hongkong Trip. We paid Php18,000+ online to secure the booking. Day 1 (April 28, 2018) we left Manila via PAL around 9:35pm and arrive at HK Airport by 11:35PM, with the long queue in Immigration and waiting time in the carousel for our luggage plus another waiting time for the bus to arrive for our transfer, we were able to reach the city around 3am (April 29,2018) when we arrived, we are expecting that we will be welcome politely by a good service from a front desk (having us as their customer). But to our surprise, here's the thing... An old man approach us from somewhere and telling us that he waited for so long and everyone is already asleep. From the way he speak, we assume he's the owner of the property. Fast Forward. We asked apology to pacify the situation. He then asked us the basic details for verification of our booking. We provided our printed copy of the booking we have. Next thing is he asked for 277 HKD and i asked what is that for? The man responded in a High note. That is for the service charge (10%). You supposed to know that! i then responded, ok that is noted. after that, we thought we are done and we can now have our rest and prepare ourselves for our next day activity. but we were wrong... the man again said you need to pay 600 hkd for the use of toilet. We then responded in a low tone, what do you mean? the room that we booked does not have toilet? which is basically included in every room you booked around the world... we even asked for a toilet that is available for common use and the man responded, You don't know your booking? then I responded, of course we know! We are just clearing things out as we assume that it has comfort room. He then replied, if you don't want to pay go out and look for other hotel! (Wow! so what will happen to our payments?) of you will return it given the treatment that you are showing us, we will leave that totally depreciated building of yours with no second thought. But the thing is we are so tired and leave no choice but to pay everything for us to settle down and take some rest. We ask for discount and he gave us 50% discount for the use of toilet. so all in all we paid php 18k+ for the room an additional of 277 hkd service charge, 300 hkd use of toilet (room upgrade) than 100 hkd key deposit. after we settle we've got the key and advise to transfer from Bldg A to Bldg E where our room is located. and finally we were able to reach our room and thankful that we can already have our rest... Opps! what kind of bad luck do we have for that day? We were given a tiny room with a toilet that you can only do slow turn inside and worse is we paid for 2 pax accommodation but the bed that we've got is a size single bed!!! How can we have our goodnight sleep in there if even our luggage cant fit to that room and we will sleep on bended knees? With the tiredness and lack of energy to argue and have some debate with the old man, we just decided to take a nap and figure out everything when we have at least a little rest. So then, i woke up 6am due to numbness of left leg. then decided to fix myself and start going online to look for another hotel. God Is still good with us and we have booked another hotel which is a block away from that property. But since same day booking we definitely paid higher than the usual. To sum up everything. I would not like to recommend UK Deluxe Hostel. May god bless you.
