Udsigten fra det ret hyggelige værelse var lige, hvad jeg ønskede. Fin beliggenhed. Rengøringsstandarten på værelset manglede lidt ved ankomst, men det blev der hurtigt rettet op på. Generelt synes jeg prisen for overnatning og for morgenmad var for høj. Der manglede balance imellem pris og kvalitet. Men alligevel var jeg glad forovernvar jeg glad for at bo der.

I stayed here for my birthday and my first trip to Iceland. I chose Eyja Guldsmeden because reviews mentioned good vegan/vegetarian breakfast options. While there were things I liked, several comfort issues affected my stay for a four‑star hotel. The room was cold on arrival and the heating took too long to warm up the room. I had to turn radiator on. The bathroom was also very cold and would benefit from heated towel rail or underfloor heating. Shower water pressure felt too low. The hand wash was almost empty and ran out after a few days; when I asked for more, I was told none could be found until morning, and only after insisting was a replacement provided. Please explain electricity only works when the key card is inserted into the slot at check-in. The cleaning policy should be highlighted more clearly when booking. The room didn’t feel soundproof — I could hear people in the corridor, and there was a small visible gap on the side of the door. Breakfast cooking smells travelled through the hotel, and although the lounge area was nicely presented, it felt cold in the mornings. Complimentary tea was good, but UHT pots would have been better than creamer in rooms. The room didn’t feel very cozy for winter. A blanket/ bed spread would help. On the positive side, the room design and toiletries were lovely. Breakfast was very good, especially the Bircher muesli and Icelandic breads. The location was excellent, and tour pick‑ups right outside the hotel were very convenient.

Great Room, Great Location, Great Staff

Ein sehr schönes und gemütliches Hotel am Rand der Innenstadt. Alles neu, freundliche Leute, moderne und saubere Zimmer. Parkplätze vor und hinter dem Haus vorhanden. In der Lobby gibt es (gratis) Kaffe und Tee für die Gäse. Ich würde wieder kommen.

Værelset var smukt indrettet og rent. Personalet var venligt og serviceminded. Det lå også ganske fint i forhold til restauranter og byen, såledesat man ket kunne gå til det. Det eneste var 3 ting. Værelset var frygtelig varmt og temperatur kunne ikke reguleres, vandhane og vask var anpasset på en måde så alene håndvask var svært uden at der kom vand ud over det hele. Morgenmaden var god men totalt overdrived pr. nat 4.000 islkr.

Clean room and comfy beds. Nice ambiance and staff were friendly.

The room was good but from 7:30-8:00 AM every morning, the hotel recieved a delivery that was wheeled in in multiple carts right underneath our room and it was very loud. It was room 217.

Front desk staff great! Breakfast service also very good. Loved our room. Easy to walk to restaurants and nearby historic sites.

Great downtown stay. Comfortable room and perfect for one nights stay, before returning to the airport.

Staff guidance and overall location was amazing!

Clean comfortable rooms and nice staff made the stay a good experience. Somewhat close to down town shops, though it’s not a quick 5 min walk or something like that. No restaurant for dinners either, but it seems a fair amount of hotels in Reykjavík don’t have restaurants (they do have a breakfast area). My fife star rating is just my level of contentment with my pick, and not comparing it to a NY 5 star or something like that.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel is beautiful and the bed is comfortable. The location is perfect with free parking. We loved our stay and will return !

Very very kind staff. Their rooms are very different and cozy from other hotels and they had nice wooden structures that reach the ceiling. They’re so romantic and perfect for a couple stay. Everything in the lounge area was also very cozy and relaxing. Def recommend if you’re staying in Reykjavík.
