The hotel is located in center of Kuta. The place is lot of trees, fresh air, and quiet to take rest even it's lot of entertainment places along the street in front of the hotel.

While it is one of the older hotels, they are renovating and improving the rooms, which have always been comfortable and clean, with friendly and helpful staff it is always nice to come back.

Unfortunately my room didn't have a refrigerator. I didn't know this until I arrived. Maybe something for the future to look at. The room was a little dated but still quiet comfortable. Staff, grounds and pool were excellent. Definitely stay again.

The property is deep behind the busy street so it is quiet. The ground with grass, trees, swimming pool, beer bar, and walkway in the rear is as good as the ground of a Mariott resort. However, the room does not have nose wipe tissue and the shower does not have curtain, so shower water falls on top of toilet seat. The breakfast is good, and the beer at the swimming pool bar is inexpensive (local beer 37000 Rupis or $2.20 USD). Shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and beach are at walking distance and unlike America, it is safe for everyone to walk at midnight.

A beautiful hotel, lovely accommodation, staff very friendly. Manager Gday always willing to help his guests in every way possible. Our 2nd stay here in 3 months. Will certainly be back.

I have stayed at Matahari on 2 prior occasions - this time I upgraded to a Deluxe Queen Pool Room. I was put on Level 2 instead of the ground floor - couldn't even see the pool let alone be a "Pool Side Room" the Bed was absolutely terrible - I didn't sleep properly for the who 7 nights - 2 single beds tied together to make a queen size bed only to have a 25cm gap between mattresses... no amount of "fixing" made this better. No power points to plug your phone in to charge in the room - charging had to be done at the front door near the kettle. The shower was broken as was the bath.
Really disappointed considering the substantial cost increase from a standard room that I would normally use to a Deluxe suite.

Very nice pool and grounds. Breakfast was good. Close to everything you would need. A bit far from the beach. Almost a mile walk. Great beginner surfing beach.
