This bed and breakfast was an amazing place. It is centrally located, only a couple of blocks from the city center. All of the great things any visitor would want to see in Catania were within a 10 minute walk. So many food choices, it was actually overwhelming. The train station where I took a solo day trip up to Taormina (or anywhere else you’d wish to go on Sicily’s east coast) is also a simple 10-15 minute walk straight down the street. The host and his wife live on site in their own apartment (they own the whole floor of the building, divided into four apartments) and they were GREAT. Had lemonade waiting for me on arrival, and gave me some home made jam when I left. Host was also nice enough to help with luggage up the stairs as there was no lift. The Jules Verne suite I stayed in was HUGE and clean, with a great private bathroom. All updated. The balcony was also a plus, with a street view and view of the church right down the street. The only negative I can think of was the street noise as I stayed during a weekend, but nothing that wasn’t solved with my traveling ear plugs. I recommend this place for solo travel or for couples. Outstanding place.
