The property was a bit smaller than I thought. The location was more difficult to get to than I wanted. We were lucky our taxi was able to drive up the road. I guess most aren’t allowed. It’s a good walk up hill on a very busy pedestrian street. We had to walk down with luggage at check out. But other than all that the location was great. The washer/dryer was great. The beds were ok and the extra beds/ foam mats were a little rough. Their was 5 of us and a 3 year old. I accidentally entered the wrong number of people staying and they quickly accommodated us for a price of course, but we were very thankful! Everyone had a great time. Just don’t think I would do it again at this place for the price

The location of the hotel is on a beautiful street with views of Yasaka Pagoda. We felt fortunate to see it every time we left or came back. The room had everything we needed and more. Masao was extremely kind and responsive to all our requests. He helped us with our luggage transfer and taxi arrangements. We highly recommend Campton Kiyomizu. We will be coming back!

The location of the hotel is amazing, right next to a very popular photography spot in Gion. Because of this, expect some noises as there are always photographers outside around the clock. Washer dryer is really convenient. The rooms are very well maintained. Short walk to many stores and shops in Gion.

Well supplied kitchen. Good amount of space given the location. Quiet. Lots of tourists in kimonos taking pictures in the street. Near Starbucks and other coffee shops. On historic street. Most difficult issue is getting bags to hotel. Taxi drop off is a few blocks away as street is small, old picturesque and crowded. This means dragging suitcases or strollers a short distance to transportation.

Great hotel in an ideal location. A staff member met us and took us to our room to check us in. The unit had two bedrooms and a large living room area for eating and television. Beautiful room. Great location next to a scenic temple. We had the breakfast in our room. It was tasty and a reasonable price. I highly recommend it!

This was one of, if not the best, stay we had during our time in Japan. We were taken care of by Masao and the staff; they were amazing.

Incredible location and beautiful property - only potential issue is the crowds of tourists right outside the property, but if this doesn’t bother you, you’re going to love everything about your stay!

You will not find a more picturesque location in Gion. In fact, I suspect that directly out the front door might be one of the most photographed streets in all of Kyoto. As we would go out for the day there were always people having professional photos as well as doing amateur photography directly out our door. It's stunning - and even more so at night when most of the tourism has died down. And the apartment itself was exceptional - very traditional and spacious, but with some westernization (such as a regular table and western bed in the downstairs). If I return to Kyoto I'd definitely want to stay here again. It's difficult to imagine a better place in terms of its historic location, beauty, many restaurants nearby, and the apartment itself). The only thing is that if you have mobility issues this might not be the best place for you. It's on a very narrow street that cabs shouldn't really go up, so if going to other parts of town you'll want to walks 3-5 blocks to get to a more regular street to catch a cab.

Right in the middle of a very nice area for sightseeing. Great area to stay near the Kiyomizu temple for pictures and shopping. We loved had it had a washing machine and dryer along with plenty of space.

Amazing location! Property is very comfortable and well maintained. It was great to have a laundry machine right in the unit.

Amazing place, very authentic, and it has everything you need in the kitchen/bathroom/laundry. Good communication and help from the staff. The area is very busy (and the unit doesn’t have good sound insulation) but at night is quiet and great for walking around/photography. No taxi access so it requires a bit of a walk to the street. The Japanese breakfast was good but it gets old after a couple of days so we had to switch to western breakfast (which is served 5min away so that was a bit inconvenient). Great experience overall.

Absolutely amazing place, stay and location! Stunning view of Hokan-Ji pagoda temple from our room! The most instagramable temple and street in Gion exactly outside! So beautiful walking outside at night and taking photos! The hosts were fantastic! Highly recommend!
