Horse Riding + Accomodation
We chose this hotel during our visit to Kurokawa & Mt.Aso. It was a new experience for me to stay in a ranch instead of a hot spring resort. I tried horse riding for the first time, it was very fun. The instructor and the lady who check us in speak fluent English. It seems like most of the staff can speak very good English.
The room had twin beds, tea making facilities, a small fridge, electronic blanket, gas heater, tv, and also a big jacket for use within the property. The big bath was very good., and it can be reserve for private usage. Our plans cost 8000Yen per person from it's website (epr-r), which includes breakfast and a very nice barbeque dinner. There weren't much activities except horse riding, so I think it will be a little bored for young people.
We find the place quite isolated from town (30 min). At night there weren't any lights on the road so I don't recommend going out after dark. As published in the website, the starry skies was very beautiful. I suggest you hire a car in Kumamoto as it's inexpensive and more convenient to travel around.
