Was a very beautiful place, has simple rooms , but clean and comfortable. New Year's Eve party at the beach club./nightclub connected to the hotel was amazing.Had a great show.Great music great vibes.

The staff are very helpful and the location is great! I would recommend Selina for a short stay if you’re looking for a place in Isla Mujares. We stayed in a private room, it was clean and the housekeeping staff were great and made sure the bed and everything was setup everyday. However, there are some things I’d flag. The water pressure is quite weak. The rooms are not well lit (atleast ours wasn’t) and the indoor lights while very cozy it was quite dim. The sound insulation is pretty bad you can hear your neighbours. Luckily our neighbours were mindful and we didn’t have any issues and enjoyed our stay here!

Amazing vacation thankyou for the extra pillow and the all female dorm I'm so thankful your staff went over and above to make my vacation memerable . Thankyou for the suntan lotion and sunblock protection options and bug spray . Thankyou for security for being so protective and professional . Thanks for having a lock cutter when i locked my personals in the storage locker . Quick response . Such a beautiful beach resort . Of course some tlc is always recommended. New stove top in kitchen so cooking with other guest wouldnt be so cramped and interactions. i wouldnt been so moody first thing in morning, someone poking my pan fried wrapes to see if burner working lol And stolen cheese replaced with gross cheese was funny not funny ja ja ja beautiful soft comforters soft pillows air-conditioned and hot water was awesome felt like i was camping . Had a cabins feel . Was amaxing forever grateful . Hope to see you next year for my sabbatical when the lockers are rebuilt outside the bunks so i dont bash my knees and head every minute ja ja ja Also loved the rain shower heads in that one private bathroom, set up !! those were the best ... love my privacy . Have a wonderful new years selinas and praying God bless your hostal resort for all new beach chairs and more comfort and overall extra money for the workers . So worth the money thank-you again and again... miss you all already .. just made it home to canada its snowing ja ja ja

Check in doesn't give you the "lay of the land". Figure out the kitchen, bathrooms and included breakfast on your own. Our AC died and the room was HOT. I left to stay in a hotel my last night to get some sleep. Breakfast is very limited but tasty. Cream for coffee costs extra..haha. only some items were included. Best part about this place...the ocean and beach are beautiful but it's not a swimming beach.

My room smelled of such strong sewage it kept me up all night. I requested to change rooms and they complied. The next room did not smell but the lock didn’t work. Another guest walked right into my room while I was there. I told the hotel and they made sure no one else’s keys worked in my room, but they never went to check my actual lock, which was out of battery. The entire day my room was unlocked and anyone could have come in and stolen my stuff. The hostel is also a club at night. It was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. I could hear everything and was up until 2 AM. I left two days early to stay elsewhere and I am still working on getting a refund. Would not recommend this place.

The place has a great vibe and excellent location. The pool, bar and beach area are excellent. However we stayed three years ago when it was Selina and the building maintenance seems to have gone downhill a bit. Ladders, cleaning supplies, and buckets left laying around. Our shower pressure was terrible and the toilet had flushing issues.That being said, we still like it a lot and would stay again.

Vi bodde i en teepee/bungalow. Det var väldigt spartanskt, fanns inget annat än en säng. Det var gosigt men hade gärna önskat ett avlastningsbord eller några krokar att hänga upp kläder på. Annars var det frächa toaletter och trevlig personal. Resturangen på hotellet var dock mindre bra, vi åt inte upp maten. På fredagar och lördagar var det fest till 02, så förbered med öronproppar. Hostelet låg på en bra adress och det var gångavstånd till stränder, resturang, shopping och båthamn. Det var också trevligt med egen strand och pool, dock var det inte tillåtet att bada på stranden vid hotellet.

Only hot shower water once during our stay. Charge for everything. At restaurant food was cold every breakfast. Charged for butter to put on toast. Charged for creamer for the coffee. The checking in process was disorganized. The staff were great. Power was out in the island for an entire day and the staff were busy putting water in toilets to flush.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hostel’s direct beach access wasn’t usable for swimming due to large rocks and strong waves on that side of the island, so we had to walk quite a bit in the opposite direction to reach a swimmable beach. Regardless of the bad experience with our hotel we had a great time at Islas Mujeres because it’s a beautiful place. The bathroom design was very uncomfortable — the sink had a ledge directly under the mirror, making it difficult to wash your face or brush your teeth without splashing water everywhere. We also found the staff to be not very friendly or helpful, which added to the overall frustration. At checkout, we were charged $15 for a “dirty sheet.” I explained that the stain came from my carry-on wheels and would likely come out in the wash, but they insisted on charging anyway — even though sheets are washed between guests regardless. This experience was disappointing, especially since it’s the first time I’ve ever felt the need to leave a negative review.

This property served its purpose but left more to be desired. I stayed in the 6-bed dormitory in hopes of making friends on my solo trip but the roommates were disgruntled and not friendly. Pros: Affordable, great location, has excursion bookings on site, on site restaurant food was AMAZING, friendly staff, and SAFE. Con’s: Even though its beachfront, the beach location is no swimming due to rough tides, the resort is mostly on the sand so there’s sand everywhere in the room. AC not strong very warm at night. Power went out for a few hours during stay and the water cut off with it (I was showering when it happened) no explanation given from resort.

Check in doesn't give you the "lay of the land". Figure out the kitchen, bathrooms and included breakfast on your own. Our AC died and the room was HOT. I left to stay in a hotel my last night to get some sleep. Breakfast is very limited but tasty. Cream for coffee costs extra..haha. only some items were included. Best part about this place...the ocean and beach are beautiful but it's not a swimming beach.

My room smelled of such strong sewage it kept me up all night. I requested to change rooms and they complied. The next room did not smell but the lock didn’t work. Another guest walked right into my room while I was there. I told the hotel and they made sure no one else’s keys worked in my room, but they never went to check my actual lock, which was out of battery. The entire day my room was unlocked and anyone could have come in and stolen my stuff. The hostel is also a club at night. It was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. I could hear everything and was up until 2 AM. I left two days early to stay elsewhere and I am still working on getting a refund. Would not recommend this place.

The staff are very helpful and the location is great! I would recommend Selina for a short stay if you’re looking for a place in Isla Mujares. We stayed in a private room, it was clean and the housekeeping staff were great and made sure the bed and everything was setup everyday. However, there are some things I’d flag. The water pressure is quite weak. The rooms are not well lit (atleast ours wasn’t) and the indoor lights while very cozy it was quite dim. The sound insulation is pretty bad you can hear your neighbours. Luckily our neighbours were mindful and we didn’t have any issues and enjoyed our stay here!

The place has a great vibe and excellent location. The pool, bar and beach area are excellent. However we stayed three years ago when it was Selina and the building maintenance seems to have gone downhill a bit. Ladders, cleaning supplies, and buckets left laying around. Our shower pressure was terrible and the toilet had flushing issues.That being said, we still like it a lot and would stay again.

Vi bodde i en teepee/bungalow. Det var väldigt spartanskt, fanns inget annat än en säng. Det var gosigt men hade gärna önskat ett avlastningsbord eller några krokar att hänga upp kläder på. Annars var det frächa toaletter och trevlig personal. Resturangen på hotellet var dock mindre bra, vi åt inte upp maten. På fredagar och lördagar var det fest till 02, så förbered med öronproppar. Hostelet låg på en bra adress och det var gångavstånd till stränder, resturang, shopping och båthamn. Det var också trevligt med egen strand och pool, dock var det inte tillåtet att bada på stranden vid hotellet.

Amazing vacation thankyou for the extra pillow and the all female dorm I'm so thankful your staff went over and above to make my vacation memerable . Thankyou for the suntan lotion and sunblock protection options and bug spray . Thankyou for security for being so protective and professional . Thanks for having a lock cutter when i locked my personals in the storage locker . Quick response . Such a beautiful beach resort . Of course some tlc is always recommended. New stove top in kitchen so cooking with other guest wouldnt be so cramped and interactions. i wouldnt been so moody first thing in morning, someone poking my pan fried wrapes to see if burner working lol And stolen cheese replaced with gross cheese was funny not funny ja ja ja beautiful soft comforters soft pillows air-conditioned and hot water was awesome felt like i was camping . Had a cabins feel . Was amaxing forever grateful . Hope to see you next year for my sabbatical when the lockers are rebuilt outside the bunks so i dont bash my knees and head every minute ja ja ja Also loved the rain shower heads in that one private bathroom, set up !! those were the best ... love my privacy . Have a wonderful new years selinas and praying God bless your hostal resort for all new beach chairs and more comfort and overall extra money for the workers . So worth the money thank-you again and again... miss you all already .. just made it home to canada its snowing ja ja ja

I have stayed here about 4 times in the last two year and it is always clean with very friendly staff. Love how they opened a passway to the beach, very accessible.

Only hot shower water once during our stay. Charge for everything. At restaurant food was cold every breakfast. Charged for butter to put on toast. Charged for creamer for the coffee. The checking in process was disorganized. The staff were great. Power was out in the island for an entire day and the staff were busy putting water in toilets to flush.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hostel’s direct beach access wasn’t usable for swimming due to large rocks and strong waves on that side of the island, so we had to walk quite a bit in the opposite direction to reach a swimmable beach. Regardless of the bad experience with our hotel we had a great time at Islas Mujeres because it’s a beautiful place. The bathroom design was very uncomfortable — the sink had a ledge directly under the mirror, making it difficult to wash your face or brush your teeth without splashing water everywhere. We also found the staff to be not very friendly or helpful, which added to the overall frustration. At checkout, we were charged $15 for a “dirty sheet.” I explained that the stain came from my carry-on wheels and would likely come out in the wash, but they insisted on charging anyway — even though sheets are washed between guests regardless. This experience was disappointing, especially since it’s the first time I’ve ever felt the need to leave a negative review.

This property served its purpose but left more to be desired. I stayed in the 6-bed dormitory in hopes of making friends on my solo trip but the roommates were disgruntled and not friendly. Pros: Affordable, great location, has excursion bookings on site, on site restaurant food was AMAZING, friendly staff, and SAFE. Con’s: Even though its beachfront, the beach location is no swimming due to rough tides, the resort is mostly on the sand so there’s sand everywhere in the room. AC not strong very warm at night. Power went out for a few hours during stay and the water cut off with it (I was showering when it happened) no explanation given from resort.
