We very much liked this friendly local hotel. It has a nice quiet location a few minutes walk south-west of Thamel and nearer to Kathmandu Durbar Square (a 10 min walk). There is a very nice courtyard where we enjoyed our breakfast, each floor of the hotel has it's own balcony and there's also a simple roof terrace where we liked to sit in the evening. Room & bathroom were fairly basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked free drinking water being readily available from a large water container in reception rather than plastic 1 litre bottles to help reduce plastic. WiFi worked fine. Staff were all great with the two front desk staff especially helpful when my daughter had an on-line job interview using the hotel's business office. There seemed to be a lot of returning guests which is always a good sign.

Excellent brand new hotel near Durbar Square at a great price in the heart of Thamel. I have been here one week and I love it. Staff are welcoming (I was greeted with a welcome drink) and everyone treats you in a very friendly and helpful manner. They also organized my trip to Pokhara for me. This is my first visit to Nepal and it has been a great introduction to the community. The restaurant has a very large menu with a lot of variety. I love the rooftop chill lounge and bar with sweeping 360 views of Kathmandu! I will definitely be coming back! Namaste 🙏

Great staff, helpful and friendly; a great courtyard garden to relax in after the sensory overload of Kathmandu. It's very noisy but that's the location!

This is my go-to hotel every time I bring a group to Nepal. These family feeling and persistent quality service makes it irreplaceable in a busy city. They are like family now!

I always stay at Hotel Ganesh Himal. Their helpful staff, kind spirit, safe & clean rooms, and prime location is why I keep coming back.

Property was good but the booking process was poor. The hotel hadn't heard of wotif and despite me giving my name three times they couldn't find my booking and then suddenly found it. I booked a double room but only received a single. The hotel itself was clean and quiet with excellent service, the best mattress I've had in Nepal and welcome drink. I'd stay again but not with wotif.

Excellent location in the city with only a few minutes walk to Thamel or Durbar Square, yet away from the main traffic. The garden and balcony were nice to relax in. Staff was really friendly and helpful with organizing.

Very friendly staff! I love the yard! It feels Iike an oasis! The beds are not the most comfy but they are clean! The included breakfast is ok! Nothing special! I think the attention and the place itself is the reason why I like to return here! It is also close to the restaurants and cafes in Thamel!

I stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal for a total of 2 weeks. The hotel really shines with it's friendly and welcoming staff as well as with it's comfy courtyard. Special thanks to Siri and the other waiters for the great service. The same goes for Kancha, who I believe is the janitor. I found the food offered great and reasonably priced. I also liked the location which is not in the midst of the annoying chaos of Thamel, but still not more than a few minutes away. The rooms are somewhat dated but that didn't bother me. I stayed in different rooms of the same category and found they were quite different. In some the bathroom fixtures are not ok, some missing a shower screen, kettle filters are dirty and other small things that do however make a difference. In my view it wouldn't take much effort to improve these things. Cleanliness could also be improved.

Hotel recomendable con buena relación calidad-precio. El hotel estaba muy limpio y el personal del hotel era muy amable. Aunque la calle está mal iluminada, está muy bien ubicada y más tranquila que en Thamel. Está cerca de Thamel, a 15 min de Durar Sqr. e incluso se puede ir andando al templo de Swayambhunath.
