El Balcon

The room was clean and basic. Breakfast was great and had wonderful service. The room and hotel are very rustic, no tv and you can hear outside noise.

Beautiful property with clean spacious clean rooms. Breakfast was so fresh and delicious. The main square was so close it’s walkable.

We really felt taken care of at El Balcon. The kitchen staff: Juanita, Marlene, and Nely made delicious food and their care felt like a warm hug. We loved the very homey kitchen and restaurant.

This charmingly rustic property is located a short walk from Plaza de Armas. After being uncomfortably cold for several nights in another Cusco location even with a heater turned on, we were pleasantly surprised our room was so warm that the included heater wasn't even needed. The shower has amazing pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast included in the rate is far beyond expectations, as are amenities like thick robes and quality toilet paper. The English-speaking staff is so kind and helpful. Without hesitation we recommend El Balcon for those who enjoy staying in an authentic location that reflects the country's culture.

This was a quaint, well kept, Peruvian style place with helpful staff. Restaurant was really good but limited. Was a good value! Would stay again.

The place was pretty nice overall. Breakfast was better than most places we have been to in Peru. The noise was awful though. Starting at about midnight fireworks were going off like every 15 minutes, creating a form of psychological torture. This went on pretty much till it got light out, at that time, the people above us started making loud noises. Like dropping pool balls or something on the hard wood floors. Overall the place was clean and did the job for one night

This is a difficult review to write as the stay in El Balcon began so well, my boyfriend and I checked in on the 26th and were due to check out on the 29th August, we stayed in room 14 which is on the 1st floor all the way at the end with a view of the mountains. We were left to ourselves which was nice as we were acclimatising to the altitude. On the 2nd night, my boyfriend was in the shower, and I decided to open the window hatch to see the night view and was startled to see one of the cleaners outside, I laughed as we both jumped and he explained in Spanish that he was checking the gas pipe which I didn’t think much of as it seemed very normal. The following morning as we were getting ready to go to breakfast at the hotel, I was in the room getting changed and I see an eye appear in the key hole gap of the door, I screamed and heard running across the corridor, I yelled for my boyfriend and we ran out but they had disappeared. I got quite emotional explaining what happened to the concierge who said they would report to the owner. There were no cameras either but after describing the man who was “fixing the gas pipes” the night before, she said that doesn’t make any sense as all of that equipment is in another area of the hotel. I was with a male and went through this so I can’t imagine the experience of a solo female traveller. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel until proper doors and locks are installed, cctv is installed in all areas and the person involved is fired.

Very cute hotel. Our stay there for 2 nights was perfect. The kitchen staff were very kind and the eggs were good.

I cannot recommend this property enough. Absolutely incredible.

El estilo novo hispano de la propiedad y su conservación hace que el lugar sea hermoso, la calidad del personal del hotel y restaurante es excelente, la comodidad de la cama y lo espaciosa en la habitación es perfecta. El desayuno es muy rico, el personal está al pendiente todo el tiempo, y hay servicio de té las 24 horas, muy útil para el frío y mal de altura.
