Excellent experience. We were in the castle. Service was excellent. Room was nice and clean and quiet. It smells musty ( not too bad though) but expected for an old castle. The town is quaint as well with shops. Had excellent meal in town and great breakfast at hotel. This was one of our favorite experiences!

Incredible hotel, actually part of the castle. Quirky, fun rooms, Energetic climb to the restaurant. Highly recommend. Guests need to be advised how to check in since it is not possible to drive to the entrance

Como seria apenas 1 dia em Obidos escolhi este hotel por ser no castelo. Decidi pelo quarto standard por ser apenas 1 dia. NAO vale a pena , esses quartos sao bem ruins, esse quarto e fora do castelo , claustrofobico, muito pequeno. Se for ficar opte pelos mais caros q serao demtro do castelo O atendimento e perfeito, o hotel nao tem estacionamento mas eles te orientam onde parar e te buscam e levam ate o hotel com maior cuidado e alegria. Os atendentes sao perfeitos , muito simpaticose cafe da manha e restaurante do hotel sao otimos

Atendentes muito cuidadosos e simpáticos. Hotel é lindo, mas quartos são antigos, com cheiro forte e insetos. Vale muito a pena pela experiência de ficar em um prédio histórico.

Stunning setting in a centuries old tower and palace, excellent attentive staff, superb breakfast. ALERT: the property is inside a walled medieval village and not accessible by car or taxi. The hotel will meet you and bring you back to parking outside the walls.

Dining at the pousada leaves much to be desired. The staff was very attentive however it appears that the problem was in the kitchen. It took us about an hour and a half to get our order. I ordered a steak which was raw and was served with fried potato peels. My wife ordered risotto which was good. There were only two other tables with customers. There were also flies buzzing about the dining room.

Walking within castle was taxing . Too many steps .bad for my knees . Shd inform future guests about this. Amenities were also lacking - no kettle for boiling water, no bedroom slippers, no replenishment of water. Check in n check out took a long time. Only 1 porter who I must add was good . We had to wait for van n golf cart to bring luggage to our rooms . Only 1 van n 1 golf cart which starts only at 9 am. Having said all that, the views from the hotel was quite astounding n as a castle , it was interesting n quite beautiful. At breakfast only 1 service staff. The hotel is severely understaffed . The staff was helpful n good but not enough help. Area outside the hotel was nice n interesting with good restaurants n shops

This was our top stay in Portugal. A bit expensive, but abolutely worth it. Very nice room, with very comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful, and gave us all the information we needed. Picked up our luggage (and us) with their golfcart. Service was excellent. Exclusive access to the castle, and the towers kept you away from the tourist crowds during daytime on the city walls. Also a very nice patio in front of the reception with a nice view over over the town. If we could afford it I would have liked to stay longer here.

Beautiful location with a novel concept of “Staying inside the Castle”, it’s more like staying in a hotel room, inside the Castle walls. They created a touch of charm by adding a welcome treat and sharing a letter about one of the Queens. We received an access card into the Castle to view some of the rooms and restaurant. The shops and walking streets inside the Castle walls help to create a village atmosphere. Our room provided standard amenities but appeared old and tired (hair dryer). No photos of the room as it lacked that WOW effect. We also notified the team via the app that we would be celebrating our 20th Anniversary (no special accommodations were made…for example, there was no note to say congratulations). Breakfast was good, but for the price point I would have expected more. I would not recommend booking dinner in the Restaurant (there are lots of great places in the village). At check in we were provided a map with recommendations, that was incredibly helpful. The staff was friendly and polite. We enjoyed our ride into the village and leaving the village and getting to talk to the locals.

Extraordinary stay at the Pousada Castelo de Óbidos! Though we thought parking outside of the castle walls would have been problematic, it wasn't whatsoever! The pickup & dropoff service offered by the hotel (and specifically Guillerme) was exceptional! We truly enjoyed all of the amenities offered by the "castle" ~ a once in a lifetime experience! We'll be back!!

Entendo que o hotel é antigo, mas o cheiro de mofo na sala comum estava bastante forte. Por outro lado, a equipe foi muito simpática e o atendimento no restaurante foi excepcional. No entanto, durante o check-out, o serviço de transfer até o estacionamento não estava disponível por falta de pessoal, o que me obrigou a ir andando com toda a bagagem — algo que realmente não esperava em um hotel da rede Pestana. Além disso, sou cliente Gold no Hoteis.com e, diferentemente de outras experiências, não recebi nenhum upgrade ou cortesia, o que geralmente é oferecido. Para comparação, tive uma excelente experiência no hotel da rede em Cascais, com upgrade e um ótimo vinho de boas-vindas. Por isso, ainda considero me hospedar novamente com vocês, mas deixo esse feedback para que possam avaliar esses pontos de melhoria.

Atendentes muito cuidadosos e simpáticos. Hotel é lindo, mas quartos são antigos, com cheiro forte e insetos. Vale muito a pena pela experiência de ficar em um prédio histórico.

Stunning setting in a centuries old tower and palace, excellent attentive staff, superb breakfast. ALERT: the property is inside a walled medieval village and not accessible by car or taxi. The hotel will meet you and bring you back to parking outside the walls.

Dining at the pousada leaves much to be desired. The staff was very attentive however it appears that the problem was in the kitchen. It took us about an hour and a half to get our order. I ordered a steak which was raw and was served with fried potato peels. My wife ordered risotto which was good. There were only two other tables with customers. There were also flies buzzing about the dining room.

Walking within castle was taxing . Too many steps .bad for my knees . Shd inform future guests about this. Amenities were also lacking - no kettle for boiling water, no bedroom slippers, no replenishment of water. Check in n check out took a long time. Only 1 porter who I must add was good . We had to wait for van n golf cart to bring luggage to our rooms . Only 1 van n 1 golf cart which starts only at 9 am. Having said all that, the views from the hotel was quite astounding n as a castle , it was interesting n quite beautiful. At breakfast only 1 service staff. The hotel is severely understaffed . The staff was helpful n good but not enough help. Area outside the hotel was nice n interesting with good restaurants n shops

Incredible hotel, actually part of the castle. Quirky, fun rooms, Energetic climb to the restaurant. Highly recommend. Guests need to be advised how to check in since it is not possible to drive to the entrance

This was our top stay in Portugal. A bit expensive, but abolutely worth it. Very nice room, with very comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful, and gave us all the information we needed. Picked up our luggage (and us) with their golfcart. Service was excellent. Exclusive access to the castle, and the towers kept you away from the tourist crowds during daytime on the city walls. Also a very nice patio in front of the reception with a nice view over over the town. If we could afford it I would have liked to stay longer here.

Beautiful location with a novel concept of “Staying inside the Castle”, it’s more like staying in a hotel room, inside the Castle walls. They created a touch of charm by adding a welcome treat and sharing a letter about one of the Queens. We received an access card into the Castle to view some of the rooms and restaurant. The shops and walking streets inside the Castle walls help to create a village atmosphere. Our room provided standard amenities but appeared old and tired (hair dryer). No photos of the room as it lacked that WOW effect. We also notified the team via the app that we would be celebrating our 20th Anniversary (no special accommodations were made…for example, there was no note to say congratulations). Breakfast was good, but for the price point I would have expected more. I would not recommend booking dinner in the Restaurant (there are lots of great places in the village). At check in we were provided a map with recommendations, that was incredibly helpful. The staff was friendly and polite. We enjoyed our ride into the village and leaving the village and getting to talk to the locals.

Extraordinary stay at the Pousada Castelo de Óbidos! Though we thought parking outside of the castle walls would have been problematic, it wasn't whatsoever! The pickup & dropoff service offered by the hotel (and specifically Guillerme) was exceptional! We truly enjoyed all of the amenities offered by the "castle" ~ a once in a lifetime experience! We'll be back!!

Entendo que o hotel é antigo, mas o cheiro de mofo na sala comum estava bastante forte. Por outro lado, a equipe foi muito simpática e o atendimento no restaurante foi excepcional. No entanto, durante o check-out, o serviço de transfer até o estacionamento não estava disponível por falta de pessoal, o que me obrigou a ir andando com toda a bagagem — algo que realmente não esperava em um hotel da rede Pestana. Além disso, sou cliente Gold no Hoteis.com e, diferentemente de outras experiências, não recebi nenhum upgrade ou cortesia, o que geralmente é oferecido. Para comparação, tive uma excelente experiência no hotel da rede em Cascais, com upgrade e um ótimo vinho de boas-vindas. Por isso, ainda considero me hospedar novamente com vocês, mas deixo esse feedback para que possam avaliar esses pontos de melhoria.
