I had a fantastic stay at the Clayton hotel- comfortable, quite, central location, and an incredible view. One thing to note across Scotland in general is that fridges and clocks in hotel rooms are not common here.

The property is really nicely maintained, especially common areas like the lounges, reception, and bar. Our room was nice, comfortable (albeit small) but it didn't have a mini- fridge, which we found odd and kind of a bummer. I might be in the wrong for not reading the fine print and just assuming there would be one; I've never stayed in a hotel where there was no mini-fridge. We were able to do without it, but if you're someone who needs to keep something cold (like a nursing mother or someone who takes certain medication), that can be an issue. Our view of the river was cute. We appreciated being able to open the window. All in all, a stay here seems a tad overpriced for what you're getting in your room. This would be a great place to stay if you're on a business trip and plan to use the on-site lounge, bar, and restaurant.

Roman was lovely, clan and spacious. Staff were really attentive and friendly. Food in the bar was excellent!

We were there for 9 night room had a double and a single bed there were only 2 of us. The closet had 8 hangers and not one drawer in the room so we basically lived out of our suitcase. View from the room on the 12th floor was awesome but the pipes clanging every time someone used the toilet was ridiculous in a fairly new hotel. Someone must’ve complained before I did because it had stopped by day 2. You cannot charge anything to your room unless you have paid money up front for them to deduct from like a line of credit so I told them to take 200 pounds from my card to cover us. We proceeded to order a few things at the bar on day 2 and told them to charge it to the room. We went up stairs got into bed to go to sleep and the phone rings telling me I had to go back down and pay as we didn’t have credit. I told them I checked in the day before and had 200 pounds charged to my card to which they said Oh sorry it must be a mix up. The whole thing was ridiculous as they had all my credit card details and could easily charge my card. We stayed in a different hotel on the first 2 days of our trip and never had an issue like this it was ridiculous. So every time we ordered food or drink after that we just paid for it then. When they cleaned the room if we took drinks up the night before they never took away the empty glasses not once and we literally took a night cap up every night. I’ve traveled all over and found this experience bizarre and that’s about the nicest thing I can say!

Amazing hotel. Very nice. Wish there was free or cheaper breakfast but it was still very good.

Great location, beautiful hotel, easy access to downtown. Parking is a little hectic (park in the Q park for easy access).

Dissapointing breakfast.....lack of variety......bread not fresh ...items not replenished and poor coffee

We loved our stay at the Clayton! The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was unreal. So many options, and the coffee machine was a total bonus. Very close to the action of Merchant city, but none of the noise. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Glasgow!

Room was excellent and clean

We have stayed in this Hotel on numerous occasions mostly 2 nights but just had a 3 night break.The Hotel is Bright & Modern the reception staff offer a quick friendly checkin.Our room was spacious with a double & single bed great when youre child is with you.

Brilliant location, room view over river clyde and bridge. Right in centre but quiet. Discounted car park 3 mins away. Easy to get and out of the city. Rooms were spacious, high quality and comfy. No fridge but has a safe. Highly recommended.

Didn’t put any card or acknowledgment in room, despite advising it was partners birthday. Didn’t get the upgrade or food/drink voucher that hotel rewards programme gives you
