Beautiful hotel Very impressed with the comfort and style of the room. Fabulous view over the river Clyde Good selection at breakfast but the only disappointment was cooked breakfast was very cold. Had obviously been sitting for too long.

The Clayton has an excellent location within easy walking distance to Edinbourg's attractions, the Castle etc. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. As seems to be common in European hotels the room was small but still very comfortable. The bathroom while spotless and modern was very small and it was like a sauna after taking a shower which was quite uncomfortable. The hotel does not have any parking. It has a discount arrangement with a parking garage which was nice but the garage itself is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. So all in all luggage dropoff and parking is a hassle. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again

Very good hotel in central location. Breakfast buffet could be a bit healthier but then most guests will enjoy the English breakfast and other options. There is a 'vitality breakfast' option but that comes at an extra 15 EUR/Pounds.

The hotel is beautiful, close to the train station of that is important for anyone, the staff are pleasant and efficient. The amenities are good . A very nice hotel and would stay here again. Excellent value for the price

The breakfast was very good value for money @£15 (April '26). The food was good with plenty of variety. I loved the decor of the hotel. My room was on the 16th floor. I had an amazing view of the River Clyde and the surrounding area. There was a small library on the ground floor with another small sitting room - increasingly unusual. I have stayed in 5 star hotels that did not have this.

Staff was nice and room was cleaned daily. We did notice some maintenance needed to be done in the shower. Caulking on the shower was over it service life and cracking causing mold growth. We also noticed stains on the comforter. Lastly, wished breakfast was included with hotel stay.
