St James’s Centre and Prince’s Street/George Street immediately adjacent. Room immaculate and ideal shower/wash room. Quiet bedroom and exceptionally comfortable bed. Lift system a little quirky but reception staff welcoming and willing to help at every turn. Bus/tram system appears perfect for most peoples needs.

Room was great very clean and interesting décor. Restaurant and Bar were also good lots of food options for a reasonable price. The only reason why it didn't get an excellent rating is because we were charged for drinks when we received a coupon at reception for free drinks (or 14 pounds off) at the bar. Ended up paying $50 CAD for 2 drinks even though bartender said it was covered.

The best things were the food and bed. But everything was excellent. Decor interesting but not to everyone's taste. Bar and dinner service excellent but staff at breakfast a bit less friendly.

We were staying in late Aug with our toddler. They generously upgraded us to suite which gave our kid more room to run around in the room. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Rooms are clean with comfy bed.

We liked the friendly and efficient staff. The location is superb, situated in St Andrew’s Square and only a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley railway station, Princes Street and St James shopping mall. Our room was compact, clean and very comfortable. We liked the fact that it had a safe and a fridge in what would be described as a standard room.

A lovely hotel on St. Andrew’s Square. Elevators are a bit confusing, but easily manageable. Breakfast was delicious and there are many options. Old Town is just a stones throw away. Staff is exceptionally friendly and eager to help out. I recommend this place to all!!!

Great location. Hotel suites have bathtubs in the middle of the room that take up unnecessary space in our opinion. Had to move room three times in 3 nights due to some issues.

The floor in the breakfast food area was very dirty your feet stuck to it -I raised it with reception on leaving -was told I noticed that a couple of days ago !! How long does it take to rectify ?? At £400- £600 a night v poor . Also at this price I do feel staff could bring tea and coffee to the table at breakfast - it’s not great carrying 2 cups hot tea pot etc and going back for fruit juice and then food . We got back to the bar after 11pm and it was closed again poor for £400/£600 room The hotel room was immaculate , comfortable and beautiful air con , great location .

We stayed at Malmaison Edinburgh City during August for the Fringe Festival, and it was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, with warm, friendly service and thoughtful touches that made us feel truly valued as guests. The hotel itself is stylish, comfortable, and in a fantastic location, ideal for exploring the festival while still being able to retreat to a calm, relaxing space at the end of the day. Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The little extras and attention to detail really set this place apart. We couldn’t have asked for a better base during the Fringe and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!
