Peebles Hydro Hotel

Absolutely wonderful stay. Perfect weekend to beat any January blues!!! Grill room meals exceptional! But the best thing is the staff…many of whom are very young…all absolutely fabulous!! Thank you x

The lady at reception was wonderfully accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately I don’t recall her name but she had a Polish accent. The “feature” rooms are higher priced fit the view, but unless you intend on spending a lot of time in the room I’d recommend taking one of the other more spacious rooms. The pool area is a nice place to relax, but the bar area beside where the snacks are laid out was a disappointment as it closed at 5pm which is exactly when you want a cocktail! I was also disappointed that the small snacks weren’t complimentary….for a hotel of this standard it seemed rather tacky. The hotel overall is in need of some redecoration, but it is in a great location just a 10 minute walk from Peebles High street. Re breakfast - definately lacking….the cold cut/cheese area was very unappetizing. Only one clicked cheese that looked very tired and the other cheeses were all single serves wrapped in plastic - yeuk. The yogurts we’re also disappointing - the only ones on offer had artificial sweeteners…..Given our disappointment with the breakfasts we didn’t eat dinner in the hotel. The hotel grounds are lovely even in winter.

The room was very basic - clean but not good value for money

I’m a business traveler. Rooms were ok for the price, we ate in the bar, rather than the restaurant. We had to order at the bar, collect drinks at the bar, the waiter service mostly hadn’t got a clue what table they were delivering too and often they were offering main courses to tables who already had main courses already being eaten? The big issue for us, was that they put a service charge of 10% on the bill. If you have to go to the bar, to order? And they have no idea where they are taking the food to? What exactly is the service? McDonald’s don’t have service charge? To be perfectly honest the food isn’t much better and I prefer to avoid those as well

Room ok clean the bit small and bed was not that comfortable big and roomy but like sleeping on a pebble beach princess and the pea came to mind except the pea was the size off a bowling ball but views are spectacular

Great place to stay

We used the Peebles Hydro as a base to visit the Borders area so we didn't use the Spa or Leisure facilities. The hotel is lovely and the staff helpful, friendly and efficient.

The Peebles Hydro Hotel was amazing and such an awesome place to stay! We spent a couple nights here to celebrate my birthday and everything was perfect! The Swimming Pool and Hot Tub were so nice and the spa area was spectacular as well!

Was a great stay. But pool and sauna etc were really tired and not nice enough. Staff were fabulous. Breakfast was great. Grounds lovely. But a couple of things in the bathroom -chips n nicks - could have been easily sorted. Pool was a big disappointment

Lovley traditional building maintained to good standard. Looks spectacular with Amazing Views. Special mention for Cloe on reception and Brad in main restauraunt.

We had an excellent two-day stay at Peebles Hydro. Everything from the staff to the setting was first-class, and a lovely touch from the manager to give me a birthday card and chocolates – much appreciated. Only two small suggestions: it would be handy to have a bar on the ground floor, and as we’re getting older, a handrail in the shower would make things easier. Other than that, a wonderful visit and we’ll happily return.

Stunning hotel, gorgeous setting , excellent bedroom - had a double and only booked single. Great quality and choice at breakfast. Leisure facilities an added bonus . Looking to rebook to enjoy all there is to see
