Well looked after. Spa was very calming and in great condition. Room was decorated beautifully and very clean. Dinner was delicious and the staff were super friendly. 10/10 would go again!

Overall it was excellent. If I was being overly critical then I would say that the hot tub is too small for the number of guests and the television in the room had 5 English language channels and 15 German language channels (which seems unusual….) However we had a great time and the food and staff were great.

Lovely hotel and spa. Very relaxing stay. The team are an asset to the hotel, so welcoming and helpful.

Excellent stay. George front of house and Scott in the restaurant were particularly brilliant and friendly. All the staff were lovely.

This hotel was the perfect midweek getaway for a night to get rid of the January blues. We booked a room in the estate section of the hotel which going by pictures gives you a more modern room and is situated within the extension to the hotel. The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. There was everything you would need in the room. I’m told by my partner the provided hairdryer is the best of any she has used at previous stays at other hotels, so bonus points there. I’m not one for Spas but my partner loves them. But even I was impressed. Outdoors there is a choice of two saunas, a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. There’s also a plunge pool if you’re feeling brave. Indoors you have plenty of relaxation beds and you can also directly access the heated pool via a sliding door. There was plenty of towels during our visit as well as water, herbal tea and dried fruits within the Spa. We stayed on a Monday during January and there was no issues using any of the spa facilities. On a weekend you may have a bit of a wait for some of the outdoor facilities. We had dinner at Charlie’s and the food was good, a little expensive but that’s to be expected. Service was attentive and friendly. After dinner we headed to the 1745 Club/Bar which is where we spent the rest of the evening. It gives a nice cosy, warm vibe which is exactly what we needed on a cold January evening. My only negative would be the lack of a drink on arrival.

Beautiful hotel with excellent dining and spa. Very clean and all staff were fabulous.

Fabulous location great facilities disappointingly the spa was at maximum capacity when we went down so we were turned away twice before successfully getting in two hours later.

The hotel is great, we had a great room which was really clean. The reason we visited this property was for the spa, this unfortunately turned out to be a real disappointment. It was soooo over crowded that it completely ruined the whole experience. When we arrived at the spa, there were no locks left to leave our possessions in. Then, we entered the spa and had to wait for ages to get a lounger. Once we got settled on our lounger we went into the pool, the pool is great. We then went to go into the jacuzzi pool, it was full. We waited for ages and eventually gave up. We the returned to our lounger to chill out. At this point there was more and more people arriving at the spa, these new arrivals were just walking about looking for somewhere to sit or lie down. It was like a cheap all inclusive in Costa Brava back in the 80's, all that was missing was the German's coming down at 6am to leave a towel on a bed! The spa facilities are great, there are just far to many people in the spa at any given time. There was absolutely nothing relaxing about this Spa.

We had a lovely stay and were very impressed by this hotel. We couldn't fault a thing. The staff service was flawless and attentive, the spa is incredible and the food was divine. We also loved the hotel decor. Thank you for making this such a special birthday stay!

Excellent luxury spa hotel. Very helpful and attentive service. Excellent food in Charlie’s. Also enjoyed the lunchtime bar food and many fine touches around the hotel. Enjoyed the heated pool and spa. Special thanks to the young woman who welcomed us at check in and to James from Sunderland for keeping us entertained in the whisky bar despite his injury. Room very nice. All round excellent stay in the Scottish Borders

Had a fabulous night away for my husband's 50th birthday. Overall the hotel and spa are lovely. Great room with lovely decor. We had a drink in Whisky bar. Huge selection of whisky's. Ate at Charlie's restaurant where the food was fantastic. The staff were super friendly and spoiled my husband for his birthday. Will definitely return.

Only a slight thing but our room was said to have a mini bar however there was only a few warm drinks on the table rather than kept in a fridge which I would not call a mini bar. Everything else in the hotel was excellent and cannot fault.

Wedding anniversary night away. Outside pool is perfect for relaxing. We ate at Charlie’s restaurant. Food is delicious. Our waiter was attentive and very professional. Overall experience is restaurant was great. Breakfast the next day was outstanding. All of the staff were attentive and polite. Bedroom was tastefully decorated. We had a really great sleep. Bed was super comfy. Hotel is in a beautiful setting. We will definitely return here.

Was an amazing stay. Our first time and definitely won’t be our last. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the hotel was amazing.
