The Spier Hotel

As soon as we arrive, we got a bottle of wine for welcome drink and a golf car brought us to the room. The room was very clean & spacious. The bed and linins are very lovely. The bathroom equiped with 2 sinks, a shower, a bath tub and toilet with wooden seat. We also have an outdoor jacuzee and a lovely little garden with green grass. I will recommend this hotel to any couple or family. I myself will certainly come back with my family.

The Spier is a lovely vineyard with good accommodation. They are now starting a complete renovation of the hotel and keeping all their staff on as part of the plan . I have always felt completely safe and cared for within the hotel grounds . A wonderful breakfast in the sunshine is the perfect way to start the day . There are many things to do swimming , cycling , walking , visit the hotel vegetable garden and see the birds enroute . I look forward to visiting Spier next year after its renovation

Perfect place for family’s

Hotel estilo resort, com bastante crianças. Quartos e banheiros grandes, em formato de vilas, por vezes afastados do local do café da manhã e piscina. Você vai precisar de carro para visitar a cidade de Stellenbosch e as vinicolas da região, o que não foi um problema para nós pois estávamos de carro. No geral o hotel não tem nenhum charme especial mas é uma boa opção na região.

Beautiful property in a glorious part of the world with amazing wine tasting options and excellent food

Es liegt sehr gut und man ist schnell auf vielen Weingütern. Für uns als Familie war es super, hat viele andere Familien und die Anlage ist gross und weitläufig, kann es sehr empfehlen. Die Zimmer und vor Allem das Badezimmer sind in die Jahren gekommen, sollten bald mal rennoviert werden.

Fabulous stay, looking forward to returning next year. Very friendly & helpful staff, beautiful grounds with so much to do, stunning art work every where Excellent food & drink everywhere many locally produced. Spacious, immaculate double room, on top of 2 storey block of 4 rooms. Bathroom in our room was vintage in style but well maintained and immaculately clean with double shower, bath and 2 basins. They're undergoing a refurb in March to upgrade these rooms. We had access to 1 off the 6 outdoor pools shared by small group of rooms as well as main hotel pool. Lots to do on site- wine tasting, craft market - run by the artists eagles, Segway tours, river walk, cycling, picnics small well equipped gym, spa also family friendly with a kid's club & play area etc. Enjoy!

Have stayed at property before facilities poor for size of property ( pool areas ) large rooms food good,,No VIP gold add ons given , even though available “ but at an extra cost. . Good for families with small children . 6/10

This was our sixth visit to Spier. We just love everything. Rooms, the whole area, the pool, restaurants and the beautiful, awesome staff.

Lovely rural hotel and village feel close to Stellenbosch. Beautiful walks around the wine farm village

First time staying here in Winter but just as stunning as in Summer. Especially with gas fire lit . Spotlessly clean and amazing walks around the farm.

Amazing stay at a well run hotel. Large rooms and great service. Hotel restaurant was excellent and we ate in most meals as a result.

An amazing stay at a super nice place with great staff, Incredible buffet breakfast, and comfy rooms. We will return again!!

Booked a luxury room with a single and double bed. The room only had a king size bed, we asked reception to change it and they said they would. We went to the bar, then went back to the room before dinner and the nothing had been changed. We rang reception again and they sent 2 people over who told us you can have 2 bed in the apartment. I showed them the booking that said a double and single bed included. They then said call reception which we did again and they said they’d take care of it. When we returned after dinner it wasn’t change so I slept on the sofa. I’ve stayed there before with wife and kids with 3 beds in a room so they clearer just couldn’t be bothered. I must say all staff at the bar, restaurants, wine tasting and hotel porters were excellent though.

Arrived fairly late in the afternoon and we were unaware of the Wine tasting included in the hotel price. The receptionist called the Wine tasting and they fitted us last minute. Very considerate and helpful staff.

Die Anlage ist gigantisch, das Zimmer groß mit Balkon bzw Terrasse und separatem Pool im Garten. Der echte Kamin ist klasse, das Frühstück ist mehr als ausreichend. Der große Pool ist auch toll für Kinder, wir empfehlen auch die Weinprobe und den „Anwohnerrabatt“ beim Weinkauf. Jede Menge Spielplätze und Märkte, alles ist gesichert und umzäunt, man kann auch super allein durch die Weinberge joggen gehen.
