PERFECT STAY

Muy buen hotel en un lugar inmejorable de la ciudad, justo frente a la primera playa del sardinero, con muchos restaurantes y cafeterías al rededor así como un pequeño supermercado al lado. El hotel además cuenta con un parking subterráneo (de pago pero asequible), cafetería y restaurante. Las habitaciones muy amplias, cómodas y modernas. El personal muy amable y atento. El restaurante cuenta con un menú diario que varía diariamente a un buen precio calidad.

Hotel idealement situé et confortable. Petit déjeuner sans prétention mais ok.

Muy buen hotel, aunque ya se notan ciertos detalles de desgaste en cortinas muros y muebles. Se veían ciertos chorreados en las puertas del guardarropa.

El hotel es muy cómodo y está en la mejor zona de Santander, justo delante de la playa del Sardinero. El proceso de recepción es muy rápido y la habitación es cómoda para una pareja con 2 hijos.

Hotel was much more elegant than expected. Breakfast was adequate, but coffee service could have been better. One coffee maker was broken. Had to stand in line for coffee.

The location and the attention to detail were both great. The breakfast was awesome

Great view of the ocean. Very walkable area. Elegant old hotel, modernized, yet charming. Cafe available, as well as restaurant, for those who like to eat before 8:30pm.

Fantastic hotel next to beach. Extremely comfortable beds. Great start to holiday.

We stayed at Gran Hotel Sardinero on the last night of a 3.5 week driving tour of France and Spain, before catching the ferry back to Portsmouth, UK. The hotel was tired, the most poorly equipped of all the hotels over 25 nights and it cost the most. At over £300 for one night, I did expect tea and coffee facilities and parking, instead the parking was another 17€ for one night and there were no tea or coffee facilities, not even a kettle. We were expecting and paid for a family room, which turned out to be a basic room with two kingsize beds, it was the only hotel over 25 nights where we didn’t have separate bedrooms for the children. There was no breakfast included and when we went down to have dinner, the restaurant apparently only opens at 20:30, which is too late for children to eat. So we found a restaurant down the road to have dinner, where the food was exceptional! It was all round a disappointment, which all began when we wanted to take our bags up to the room, one of the lifts was broken for several hours, the toilet brush was broken and the mini bar was empty, with exception to a bottle of water. It almost felt like a posh Faulty Towers, my advice is to steer clear and stay at the Hotel Catalonia in Bilbao, where for the same price, it will absolutely exceeded all your expectations, as it did ours. It’s where we’ll be staying next time. The only positives were the balconies were lovely, the beds were very comfortable and reception staff polite.

There is something very meager about only allotting a grand total of two very thin pillows for an entire king bed. Not even a blanket in the closet. We had a suite and breakfast, and they were both average. I'm not sure if it's a regional stinginess or what. But the service was a bit lacking. If you don't get a suite, you are out of luck here. No cups, coffee maker, not much of anything. The standard rooms are not generous at all. On the bright side, wonderful location, free towells for the beach, a restaurant with decent hours. The restaurant seemed pretty good.

Parking unique! Perfect location

A wonderful hotel overlooking the beach. Lovely room with a side view of the sea. In a fabulous location. Staff were friendly and our room was spacious and immaculate. In walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants. It is nice having a cafe attached to the hotel with outside seating where you can purchase drinks and snacks throughout the day. Taxi rank right outside to take you easily to the ferry side of Santander as it was a bit of a walk. Couldn’t fault the hotel and would stay again and recommend.
